http://houseofhouston.com/2015/02/1...want-1st-rounder-rockets-target-goran-dragic/ I dont know, but it sounds pretty damn good!
You'd trade any combination of Jones, Terry, Kpap, Johnson, Capella, Canaan, shved and the Pels pick for Dragic. That's a no brainier as we should be going all in this year and every other year we have Harden in his prime. Even without a commitment from Dragic for next season (although I like the chances of resigning him anyway unless he is hell bent on being the man on his own team which seems unlikely considering his history and his overall demeanour.) But IMHO Terry will be a huge loss. As others have pointed out Terry just seems so integral to the personality, spirit and overall mental makeup of this team. I think his presence is invaluable come playoff time especially when you consider he's been there done that with the Ponies. If we can get dragic with a combination of the above players without losing Terry I'd be ecstatic. On that note a question for the CBA experts - is it possible Terry is traded with an 'agreement' Phoenix cuts him and we resign him on the cheap? We would have to compensate them in some way shape or form I'd assume ( long term second rounder or draft rights to an overseas play like Llull (llullzzz))? If we could do this to get this trade over the line whilst keeping Terry on the team I'm all for it. Even if Terry hardly plays with the addition of dragic. My 0.02c anyway..
What do you do if the Suns want DMO in the deal for Dragic? I know you have your specific players your willing to give up for Dragic but Im sure the Suns have their specific players targeted that they would be willing to take for him.
You can always post the 'original link': http://www.sltrib.com/sports/2170975-155/utah-jazz-frustrated-enes-katner-said ...
A 2nd round draft pick will do also ... for example the 2nd round draft pick we've received from the Knicks.
Yes they do .Badly. Burks is injured for the year and Burke looks a huge bust. He already has been delegated to the bench behind Exum who is timid and completely raw. Utah needs a pg and this is their only need. IT lack of defence can be covered easily by pairing him with Exum AND with Gobert .
lol sorry i cant take this post seriously, you do have good posts but this one is ****! Utah is going nowhere, they dont need IT. Exum just needs playing time, Burke does suck though. I can see Utah trading Kanter to the Suns but honestly dont see why it would be for IT. If it happens ill apologize but it doesnt make sense in my eyes.
I'd say no and try and try and get a lesser pg at a cheaper price. DMO has shown me enough to believe he could be an above average PF with a skill set which is as valuable as dragic especially if you consider contracts. If (big if) his improvement continues and Dwight buys into his real role on this team and be somewhat healthy next year, I think DMO could become a good reliable second option behind Harden. This will require a better, more efficient and reliable offensive system though..
It's ok haha I just post my opinion it's not like I'm an insider or anything. I think they will look for a pg because Exum needs to learn next to someone. He is way too timid and raw. If this continues next year the fear of being a bust as well must be considered. He can get stronger but character doesn't change and the guy is too afraid to do anything but pass. It is time in Utah's rebuilding process to start adding some good vets. They have way too many rookies or on their first contract guys. Is IT a good vet that can teach Exum? Maybe not. But Kanter's value right now is very low due to the QO he will sign in the summer. This deal imo will serve two purposes. Have a veteran precence that maybe teaches Exum to be more aggresive - help in their next step of starting to fight for a PO spot with giving some scoring from the backcourt that they badly badly need.
A system based around Harden/Dwight PnR (with a healthy and committed 'ill do what I'm elite at and set strong picks, roll to the basket hard and use my oversize godly physique to clear out space in the paint' kinda Dwight) and DMO isolations on the block. Add the 3 point shooters, even the ones we currently have, and you're good to go. This is obviously easier said then done.
You need a coach first. We play street ball and jack up bricks ( 45 last night ) after another even if they're not falling in, Mcfail seems to encourage it.
I would lovev to have IT. He scores the basketball. We need this desperately we are running Harden into the ground. He needscanother scorer or he will have no legs come playoff time
The rest of your post I cut for length. I don't necessarily disagree with them. Rather I agree for the most part. But that is why my original statement was so "redundant" as you put it. Because individually things may work. But together and it's a terrible fit. As for subjectivity, he is indeed a terrible defender and he does indeed want to start. And his usage is not a subjective either no matter eye test or by data. The only thing subjective is the whole locker room thing. And both Kings fans and Suns fans have pointed at him at playing selfishly. Suns fans can't wait to ditch him at this point so they can stop watching so much iso ball. So take that fwiw.
Suns may feel good about re-signing Dragic, but let's look at the big picture from Sarver's perspective. He gutted the franchise to start a rebuilding project. The plan - I'm guessing here - was that by 2015-2016 they would be comfortably a top 6 team in the West. At least a playoff team with the cap/asset flexibility to upgrade gradually. If Dragic walks, everything is back to square one. They become one of the worst teams in the west, and FA's are not going to sign with Phoenix to play with Bledsoe, Morris twins, Len, Plumlee, etc. They would have to acquire pieces in trade, and who knows what's available. Could turn out good, could turn out bad. If Dragic walks, it doesn't mean they cannot get good players. It just means they take a big step back because they could have had some of those players AND Dragic. It's just a massive hit to their plan and I don't think they have the patience for it. So even if they are 70% sure they can re-sign him, that remaining 30% must be eating their brains alive. Dragic doesn't seem to have committed to another team otherwise they would have traded him by now. He's not committed to the Suns, and he's said so publicly. So he is refusing to commit to anyone. Based on his actions, what's he trying to do? What's the potential outcome he expects from refusing to commit? The only likely outcome is he wants to test the waters in 2015 no matter which team he's on IMO. Here's the wrench though: his team is doing as expected maybe a bit better but nothing crazy. His NUMBERS though are dropping and that means his agent is essentially watching Dragic's future salary drop with every passing day. So it could be that Dragic and his agent are now changing course because the situation has changed. IMO they are now as we speak trying to secure an under the table MAX commitment from another team, and when they get it, they will put it in front of the Suns and say: if I ask you for the max this summer, will you give it to me no questions asked? If they say no, he's gone now. If they say yes, he'll not ask for a trade and wait for summer free agency. TL;DR version: Dragic's agent is doing everything in his power to avoid exactly what Bledsoe went through. Dragic probably did not like how those negotiations went. The question is: will Morey commit the max to another guy who's trying to partially use him as leverage to get money from his own team?
looks like we needed Kmartin last night. A pass first PG wont help players make wide open shots they missed before. we need a guy that can just go out & get buckets, take load off harden
