Cuttino and Steve are on pace to becoming the best 1/2 punch in the league! Those 2 guys are history in the making. The only other 2 I can think of that come close to Mobley and Francis is Sprewell and Houston! We all should kick back and enjoy this building process, because if we ever get a high caliber inside presence (Webber for example) the NBA better look out because H-Town is coming back baby!! And I mean with a vengeance!!!!! Kicking ASS and taking names! L.A. who????? ------------------ TheMugg
I totally agree w/ya ... the last few games we have played I have noticed how other players or coaches have stated how much they like our backcourt and the fact that they are almost unstopable.... Tonight for example the Warriors chose to stop Francis (10 pts) but Cuttino made them pay.... so basically it is becoming a case of "pick your poison" ... who do you want to score.. Tino or Francis ???? not easy to decide and not easy to stop both, about the only one who can stop them is themselfs... ------------------ If you are a positive thinking person but yet you listen to country music, isn't that odd?
Have you heard of Shaq and Kobe? That is a pretty good 1-2 punch. Other good 1-2 combos in the league would have to include: Finley/Nowitzki - Dallas Walker/Pierce - Boston McGrady/Hill - Orlando (when Hill is back and healthy) Robinson/Allen - Milwaukee Webber/Stojakovic - Sacramento ------------------ There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."
Walker/Pierce - Boston <-- disfunctional McGrady/Hill - Orlando (when Hill is back and healthy) <--- But he ain;t healthy so cannot say how they will be Robinson/Allen - Milwaukee <--- Mobes and Francis are better . .esp strangely enough defensively Robinson is almost a defensive non factor Rocket River ------------------
Guys I think what he meant was the best 1/2 punch for guards. If you noticed, Sprewell and Houston are both guards. We all Shaq and Kobe are the best 1/2 punch in the league for now. ------------------ Rockets Season Ticket Holder
Shaq and Kobe are a 1-2 punch alright. Shaq will be the 1 2 punch Kobe in the jaw if he keeps his selfishness up. Kobe's ego keeps that duo from being a good one, in my oppinion. The stats might look good, but what they do to the team is not good. ------------------ "Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning how to put food on their family while being put to death."
The Lakers are 8-7 when Shaq leads them in scoring and 17-3 when Kobe leads. There might be a little substance to those stats... ------------------ WooHoo! The season's here!....I'm still gonna need that keg of Pepto-Bismol.
So ZRB, you're saying that Shaq and Kobe are NOT a good combo? I'm pretty sure they have combined to win at least ONE more championship than Francis and Mobley. Rocket River: I've heard that Big Dog is actually much improved defensively, especially on the perimeter, although I still think steve and cat are better than he and allen. Walker and Pierce aren't disfunctional, they get along very well and play well together. It's not their fault the REST of their team sucks. ------------------
Walker and Pierce are not disfunctional. They are the ONLY reason Boston has the wins it does. That team needs help. Other than those two guys, and they have played great this year, they have no help. Hill and McGrady will be a great 1-2. ------------------ There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."
