Don't forget our very own, Murph!

But yeah, the league has always had fashion-conscious players. That's not quite the same as the NBA promoting run-way shows (with participating All-Stars) during All-Star weekend.

    Good try, though.

    Exactly.

Because the NBA and its media partners don't employ former players to give their opinions on the league.

I'm betting that Chandsome will win this one. If only Maury would have known he could have had a true fashion show superstar he would have matched that offer...

Props to Beard. His popularity is growing and growing.

    H-Town reppin! !!

    Count me out

Kenny Smith gets his nails manicured.

Sadly, Gary Payton seems to have feminine tendencies.

It is so ironic that the NBA can't find more than four participants for the Dunk contests (one of whom is Plumplee!) but there it is a godamn fashio contest and all the big names take part ... Who even cares how the players dress unless it's something ridiculous to make fun of like Westbrook.

[rQUOTEr]HOUSTON – Houston Rockets star James Harden is drumming up some All-Star style.

He's teaming up with Bloomingdale's and GQ magazine for his own personal style and an NBA-inspired fashion line.

CultureMap reports he's been showing up to games ahead of time to meet fans in $1,000 custom-made suits, and he's expected to take part in the NBA's first fashion show.

[rQUOTEr]NEW YORK — James Harden sure does clean up well.

Until recently, the Houston Rockets star has been known more for his facial hair than his sartorial splendor. But now he seems determined to become a fashion icon. (Look out, Kanye!)

Teaming with Bloomingdale’s and GQ magazine, Harden is appearing in a series of videos inspired by “The Walk,” described as "the style moment between the locker room and team bus for players to showcase their off-the-court sartorial swagger. " To tout the partnership, Harden stopped by Bloomingdale's men's department Thursday afternoon to meet with fans for a fashion-filled warm-up to Sunday's NBA All-Star Game.

Arriving 30 minutes later than the scheduled start time, Harden appeared in a navy custom-made suit by Freemans Sporting Club, a New York clothier that has a shop-within-a-shop at the massive Bloomingdale's Lexington Avenue store. He accessorized the suit with a white shirt, blue tie, silver watch and black loafers. A representative for the brand says the made-to-measure suits start at $1,600.

When asked about his suit, though, Harden didn't have much to say (rumor has it that a previous suit made for him got lost), and he also was tight-lipped over his appearance in the NBA's first fashion show, dubbed “NBA All-Star All-Style,” which will be taped Friday night at the Hammerstein Theater and air Saturday at 5:30 p.m. on TNT.

The competition features eight players who will showcase looks for the boardroom, a night out and attire worn to the game, with four advancing to the second round. The final will feature the remaining two competitors.

"It's a surprise," Harden said, when asked what he planned to wear in the competition.

His former teammate, Chandler Parsons, now with the Dallas Mavericks, will also be a contestant. Judges include TNT analysts Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith, with Shaquille O'Neal as emcee. Comedian Kevin Hart will interview players backstage.

[rQUOTEr]All he top dogs are in NYC this weekend—literally. From the Westminster Dog Show to New York fashion week to the NBA All-Star Game, the best of the best are here to play ball. (And they’re causing an Uber shortage, FYI.) When the opportunity arose to talk beauty and beards with none other than James Harden—the superstar shooting guard for the Houston Rockets who has arguably the best facial hair in the biz—I decided that a break from backstage reporting and a trip to Bloomingdale’s 59th Street store (outfitted with 16 basketball-inspired shops) was necessary. Suited up in a dapper Freeman ensemble in lieu of his number 13 uniform, we got down to the nitty-gritty of grooming:

I wanted to ask you a few questions about your beard because it’s obviously your trademark. What does it take to maintain this situation?

You know what? I sleep so wild that when I wake up in the morning, I gotta make sure I comb it and groom it and wash it, just to make sure the firmness is still there.

What do you use to wash it?

Just shampoo. I [have] a couple that I use, whatever I feel like.

    Where else do you manscape?

Yeah [pause, slight head ****]…it’s just the beard and the mohawk. It’s a combination, like a one-two punch.

Do you DIY or do you have your own personal beard guru?

Whenever I need to get a haircut, they’ll groom it up for me, but after that I gotta make sure I comb it out and brush my hair.

So if you win the MVP trophy, are you going to add a beard to it?

    It’s gotta come with it!

I’m sure a little beard could be arranged and fitted to the trophy. Have you ever gotten so hot and sweaty during a game that you felt compelled to shave it off?

You know what? No, I haven’t. It’s just a part of me now.

What’s more likely to happen first: Anthony Davis tweezing his eyebrows or you shaving the beard?

Probably Anthony Davis tweezing his eyebrows.

If you could give grooming tips to any other NBA player, who would it be? Who needs to work on their grooming game?

I see a lot of guys who try to grow beards and just start cutting and it doesn’t look right. So if anything, if I don’t like it, I’d just tell them to shave.

Why even try to compete? They can’t stand up to this.

    Not even close.

It's New York Fashion week right now and everything is nuts in the city right now. So this was expected. Clubs and all are hiring extra people to handle the insanity!

[rquoter]Models may be everywhere at New York Fashion Week, but it was a collection of haute hoops stars who were the real slam dunk.

The NBA’s most stylish turned out at the Hammerstein Theater Friday to film a TNT special competition, “NBA All-Star All-Style,” which airs Saturday at 6:30 p.m.

B-ball All-Stars traded the hardwood for a sprawling runway competition that included James Harden (Houston Rockets) Klay Thompson (Golden State Warriors) and Chandler Parsons (Dallas Mavericks), among others.

For the contest, each athlete modeled three sexy looks: boardroom attire, a night out and game-day chic.

Their looks were judged by icons like NBA greats Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith, as well as designer John Elliott, WNBA star Elena Delle Donne and GQ style editor Will Welch.

Shaquille O’Neal served as emcee while fast-talking film star Kevin Hart offered commentary from backstage.

“I’m going to have to take a point or two off, because it’s not raining inside!” Hart quipped, poking fun at Parsons’ trench coat. “He tied the bow tie on the back all by himself,” roared the “Wedding Ringer” star, comparing the small forward to Justin Bieber.

Hart’s harsh glam gauntlet also zeroed in on Washington Wizards point guard John Wall. “Take your shiny shoes and tap on out of here,” he sneered at Wall, who rocked a fur shawl and Celine shades.

Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins tried to keep it cozy in a camel-color turtleneck with skinny green cargo pants for his business-casual look. But Hart dubbed his comfort couture too comfortable.

“Those are cargo jeggins!” riffed Hart.

Meanwhile the “Top Five” star gave The News some style advice of his own: “I consider myself a snazzy dresser. I’m a freak for black jeans,” says Hart.

“Style is about confidence,” he said.
