I might be mistaken, but I think a player continues to count against the cap until you renounce your rights to them(or they're signed by another team), in which case you lose their Bird Rights.

This post has nothing to do with the preceding discussion, however it is relevant to the title of the thread.

!Warning! those of you who hate RealGM please stop reading.

Having seen all these people posting RealGM trades, I figured I should give it a shot for fun. This was my first try:

houston trades: Hakeem Olajuwon 16,700,000 to vancouver
phoenix trades: Chris Dudle $6,200,000 to houston
phoenix trades: Corie Blount $1,320,000 to houston
vancouver trades: Shareef Abdur-Rahim $10,125,000 to houston (BYC Value $7,593,750)
vancouver trades: Isaac Austin 5,257,583 to phoenix
vancouver trades: Brent Price $2,880,000 to phoenix

    RealGM said this would work.
Houston - we get SAR (obvious value), blount (only one year left on contract, and dudley (only one year left on contract)
Van - they get Hakeem (although, he probably woudn't want this as they are not contenders)
Pho - they get Ike (much better than dudley) and Price (at least fills a spot in the guard position as Hardaway is gone)

Improbable, but at least food for thought.

, in the same way I didn't have any problems with my Ford Taurus until the costs of ownership exceeded its actual value.

I feel ya man. I feel ya. BTW, is your Ford Taurus by any chance light blue? I'm wondering if it's a particular species of Ford Taurus that are afflicted with this disease.
