http://mssv.ly/1zp4nTe They didn't have all the players available so I was thinking who would be on your mt. rushmore. it doesn't have to be the best players it could be your favorite of the best shooters or the best guards etc. mine favs would be: Vernon Maxwell James Harden Sleepy Floyd Cuttino Mobley
Screw guards I'm going whatever Harden Battier Scola Yao Close JVG parsons (hides) Tmac Brooks Chuckwagon
Horry Olajuwon Maxwell Elie Harden's sculpture is under construction. Otherwise Cassell is the next guy.
I think it is this... dream yao harden rudy First three are definite in that they are the players that 20 years from now will most define the Houston Rockets (and yes this is somewhat of a popularity contest). The fourth one is tough. You can go with the Houston icon like Drexler (college, championship, lives here, broadcasts) eventhough he only played a couple of years for the Rockets. You can go with old school HOF players like Moses or Murphy. A case could have been made for T-mac if things went a little different. Then of course you could go with whatever supporting cast player was your favorite during the championship years or the overachieving years that followed. But yeah, I got to go with Rudy....one of the best Rockets players and the most successful coach.
That's tough. Hakeem without a doubt. Probably MadMax Harden (he was my favorite non-Rocket in league when he was with OKC) Those are my top 3. Past that, there's a long list of guys who could fit in at that last spot.
Hakeem Drexler Horry Cassell Once Harden wins some playoff series for us, I will bump Cassell off the list and replace him with Harden.
Rudy T Calvin Murphy Hakeem Yao I think these four guys have contributed more than anyone to the Rockets organization. Yao did not accomplish a lot in terms of his basketball career. But he has internationalized the team. And he is a lifetime Rocket. I know Harden is hot on a lot of fans' mind now. But it's too early to say how much he will contribute to the Rockets history.
Performance Mt Rushmore Dream Beard Moses Rudy T Personal List Cassell Yao Scola D-Mo Can't for the life of me figure out why I like D-mo so much. He's been like my pet project for 3 years and I want to see him succeed so bad. 22 seasons, and Yao is the only other guy I can remember whose individual performance I really cared about.
Made one with players I feel are off limits to be fans of if you're a Rockets fan. Honorable mentions to: Derek Fisher D Will Carlos Boozer Lillard? Aldridge? San Antonio Big 3
Can't speak for everybody, but Dirk has never bothered me. Hate Cuban, hate the mavericks, don't hate Dirk. He's in the same category as Pujols, it's a respect hate. Now Boozer, or Fisher, those are so true blue D-Bags.
Mt. Rushmore Legends... 1.) Dream 2.) RudyT 3.) C.Murphy 4.) C.Drexler Hill Rushmore Gutsy favorites: 1.) Madmax 2.) O.Thorpe 3.) M.Ellie 4.) B.Sura ....... ....... .......
lols, I was confused by the OP link saying those four had 3 titles. They count '95 as two, one for Dream and one for Drex.
Artest Yao Scola TMac Steve Novak: Man who saved the 22 game streak Boki Nachbar: Incedent with the beloved Karl Malone
Fav Rockets Mt Rushmore Dream T-Mac Harden Horry Fav Texans Mt Rushmore Dre Arian Watt Aaron Glenn Fav Astros Mt Rushmore Randy Johnson Bags Beltran Derek Bell
Rockets Mt Rushmore? I would have to include Moochie Norris. For no other reason than it would be awesome to see his afro carved into stone.
