How often does your car get hit in the parking lot . . .

    By other people opening their doors? A few times when picking my son up from baseball [practice]I stay in my car. Get WHACKED about twice a month. Always noticed minor dings and scrapes. Normally older fellas or families. Wonder how often it happens when it's unattended. . . And if careless people suddenly become more watchful when they park next to a shiny bmw.

    That is why I usually take up three spaces when I park to avoid situations like this.

    My last car was hit three times. One guy left a note on my car and actually paid for the damage. I was shocked.

    I do NOT drive a bmw.

    I'm asking if people are suddenly more cautious when getting out of their car
    IF parked next to a nice car.

    I'm usually more careful if I park next to a BMW. Other than that I don't care if I hit the car.

    I have about 4-6 dings over 5 years. The garage I park in for work has narrow parking spots.

    what an awkward thread to see this day...some jacka$$ hits my parked car in a IHOP and takes off...so mad. Hope a camera in the back of the store recorded that jerk...

    Some guys backed into my rear bumper and did some damage last week. Messed up to leave without a note. If you take off someone else's paint and leave intentions in their bumper that is real damage. Man up and leave insurance info.

    I do my best to avoid it. I tend to park farther than necessary. Although it boggles my mind how sometimes I park relatively far, and somehow someone will decide to park right next to me with about a million parking spaces nearby :confused:
