I like the "posing with the big skyscraper between your legs and making a postcard out of it" idea.

Turns out I'll be there in mid March myself. I haven't had the time there in my recent trips to sight see, so I plan on doing the tourist stuff this time around.

That was one of the reasons I really enjoyed visiting there.

I'm not a party/club type of dude so I didn't go for those reasons but man every building you look at has something cool about it and the Mosque's are beautiful.

I've been to other Middle Eastern and Southeast Asian Countries and it's was hard for me to believe that I was only a hour flight away from countries like Pakistan, Afganistan etc.

It was a unique experience but I do see where a lot of you are saying it is overrated because it really is. And thank goodness I went during the winter and not the summer.

I bet the imprisoned construction workers from those countries felt the same way.

I have to agree with this. I've traveled worldwide (not yet to Dubai) and I admit seeing the different architecture is the most attractive to me. The least has to be the constant "on your guard" for being taken advantage of since its often obvious you are foreign and (likely) don't speak the language.

Prostitution worldwide is kind of sad if you think about it. Girls/women who actually "like it" would just give it away in bars and clubs. If the woman is actually selling it, its because she wants something (even material items) and has no other way of ever obtaining it.
