Both players have shown us they can put up big numbers in Dwight's absence. IMO both players have tremendous potential. But to answer your question I think that stat line would pretty even. Jones imo would grab more rebounds and more blocks.

Terrence's trade value has never been lower than it is right now. We need to hope that we can get him some productive minutes in hopes of raising the "allure" factor with him in trade. Otherwise, he's just basically considered wild card filler at this point. Hate to disappoint the homies but he simply doesn't have much trade value following a long, extended injury.

I tend to agree that trading Jones would be selling low. so any package including Jones will have to be sweetened, but by how much?

Same hops, same skill set, same playmaking ability.

I think he has the same trade value after a freak injury.

Just needs to play consistent for 5 or so games and that's a wrap.

LOL at people that keep saying "why trade for Dragic now, when he can walk or be gotten in free agency in the offseason..."
One simple reason - there will be a championship played between now and either of those future possibilities...
If D12 is ready to roll by playoffs, you have to be willing to make a potentially bad trade to strike while the iron is hot! Adding Dragic to the mix takes us from a contender to a favorite...

That would have to be the only rationale behind any talk of DWill... cause you sure ain't taking that contract on the hopes of 'future prosperity...' lol

Dmo will not be traded. He is one of 3 players on the team that can score when the game slows down.

The notion that Jones' value might be lower now might actually be driving more traffic Moreys way with GM's wondering what the deal is with him and if they can "take him off his hands". Basically trying to steal him away.

GMs do their homework. They know T Jones better than we do, and he's only getting traded if Morey allows is as part of a game changing trade. The BBHollic smere campaign looks to be heating up.

With the Dwight injury I doubt any bigs are going anywhere anytime this year unless a major deal happens which doesn't look likely.

You know Holic is hoping like hell T. Jones gets traded. That way he can finally be right around here. Dmo's game has finally came around and dude is petty much saying he is the piece to a championship team. He is averaging the same amount of points as Jones did last season.

If Jones regains form in the next few weeks while Howard is out, his value will be the same as Dmo's.

What a great problem to have dobro.

Even Jones at the best he's ever been has nowhere near the value of a player like DMo. I would think that would be obvious to most.

Bobbythegreat how do you know this brother? Jones game has increased each year he's been the league. And the only reason why Dmo is starting now is because of the injury Jones sustained. Dmo has capitalized on that opportunity by playing extremely well. Again if Jones regains form his stock will rise again.

Scarcity. Jones is a young athletic tweener forward, one that isn't particularly good at defense (despite the occasional flashy block) or offense (he can't reliably create his own shot). The young 7 footer with a well developed post game that plays extremely solid defense is always going to be more valuable because it is rare.

You also failed to mention Capt. Hook can shoot with either hand. Defenders never know if he is going to pivot left or right.

Trading T-Jones wouldn't make much sense now, his value is probably at an all time low. Not to mention his skillset isn't very unique:

    - 6'9"
    - 3PT (?)
    - Handles
    - Speed
    - Shot-blocking

Now, DMo on the other hand might be a much better trade asset, since his value in the league is at an all-time high, as well as he has a very unique skillset:

    - 7'0"
    - 3PT
    - DEFENSE
    - RIM PROTECTION
    - POST-GAME
    - PASSING
    - SPEED
    - IQ

This is also the reason why I think DMo won't be traded. If you trade him, you better receive an All-Star in return (at the very minimum).

If the Rockets trade a big, they'll need to sign Charles Jones to a 10-day contract. Think he can still play?

I like DMO, but his defense is not even average. Terrence Jones is better, but he is not what I would call good. I have to believe that many here do not actually watch the rockets games. On offense, DMO does have a great hook that I really like.

DMO having a great season offensively and has made a real jump in his game... but he cannot guard any of the bigs in the west that we would see in the playoffs (Randolph, Aldridge, griffin) or someone like dirk... t jones and smith can do that and in the playoffs it turns into a half court game where defense possession to possession is crucial... do you really trust DMO on the defensive side against those guys in the playoffs? so if we could trade him straight up for Lawson or dragic. I hope we do it
