One of the worst things your girlfriend could do....

Flowers are nothing. My ex delivered me a huge stuffed animal frog clutching a heart with the words "I love you" on it. She sat it in my desk, where everybody would see it. All day, I had to endure hearing "Ribbit!" from my ~30 co-workers. Then, I had to carry it out to my car at the end of the day. Flowers? Hah!

 

Turn it into something humorous or interesting. Tell the guys in your office it's from a one night stand gone hella good, and the ladies it's a 'thank you' gesture from chairing a commitee.

 

Hah... I made the mistake of remarking "Flowers??? What would I do with those?" when my girlfriend made a comment about getting me some for a special occassion, then it seemed like a big deal and I thought I would feel stupid (though I feel differently now)... but I was 17 then... what's your excuse?

The question to ask is if any of you would make fun of the guy who received flowers from his girl at work? I would hope not.

If the guys at work are making fun of you, I would think that it's because, somewhere, deep down, they are a little jealous. I know guys joke a lot about being "tied down" and such. But a lot of guys probably want a girl who is really special to them (and vice versa).

Am I totally off base here?

I could care less if you receive flowers. Actually, it's probably kind of nice to receive flowers rather than give them out all the time. I wish somebody would send me some f-ing flowers.

 

Perhaps you would be more suited to a lifestyle in San Francisco or the Montrose area.

Not really. its a guys duty to give a guy a hard time if he receives anything 'non-maculine'.

Deep down inside, they are jealous ... for the most part. There are guys out there that do not want to be tied down, and most of the ones that say they don't just haven't found that one. They are afraid of getting hurt....again.

 

If anyone said anything to me, I would smile and nod and say, "Yep, I am that good"

if this is the worst thing she has done to you, which i personally dont think is bad at all by the way, then no wonder you are still happily together after 4 years! you've found yourself a fantastic lady if that's the worst she can do!
