Awesome as I just read Dwight will be out for a month. With the top 5 rim protector and great defender Dmo in we are a lock. Nice. I mean lucky rebounding is not considered a defensive stat. Now our defense will be among the best in the NBA. No probs at all. F'ck Dwight and hope we trade his sorry good for nothing azz.

Obviously we are better with him in the lineup on both ends, the statistics do not lie..

For a short time we might do okay without him as long as we don't play teams like the Pistons who have two good rebounders/inside players, if we play teams with an inside game we will be smoked like tonight.

We are championship contenders with a healthy and motivated Dwight. No doubt about that.

precisely. And I'll add to that , PnR oriented with limited possessions, mainly a defensive impact player.

So what you're saying is, we aren't championship contenders.

Detroit is a bad matchup for us without Dwight since they have good bigs. Against other teams we're better off not having him.

Yeeep, but you know he did dominate against Portland and Rolo is no chump inside (when he decides to play defense and not pretend to be a fish flailing out of water) so I don't know. Lets just get the guy healthy and hope for the best.

Coaching is really our only downfall.

And how many playoff teams do you think have crappy bigs?

If I'm remembering right, out 3balls were dominating during this stretch.

I hope he can truly get healthy, the fact that the knee flared up again after the first 3 week rest period is not a good sign, IMO.

The Rockets are at their best with a healthy Dwight, but are worse with an injured or gimpy Dwight, his positive impact is based on his athleticism.

I'd take 85% Howard all day over anyone else on this squad at C. He still makes a big impact on defense......just feed him the ball less in the post.

That is one thing we undervalue, his ability to discourage players from driving into the basket. We aren't very good at stopping those when he's out...and we don't deter other teams from abusing it.

I think we are better offensively because of our floor spacing. You would think T Jones would enter the lineup at the 4 next to Montie on Wednesday. But defensively we take a step back, having Dwight to change drives at the rim is very important. I will credit Terrence Jones for averaging almost 2 blocks in 7 games.

we haven't had a fully healthy team since we got Dwight. If we get fully healthy by the Playoffs then we can do some damage

    Facts :

    1. The Mavs was ranked 21st in the NBA in rebounding coming into that game, and Chandler was grabbing rebounds left and right and over the top of Dmo in that game.

    2. Against the Pistons, our starting C and PF grabbed 1 defensive rebound each the whole game. Yes, you read it right, 1 D reb for each of them.
