Look down the road 3 years when the rockets will be a powerhouse in the west. Malone will be retired. Payton 38 years old and Shaq in decline. The lakers won't be a problem

Sacramento's window for a championship is closing, 3 years from now they won't be as good.

San Antonio and Dallas will still be very good.

i like the rockets chances then

Yeah I agree, I hope the Rockets can go after a PF now more than ever...

I know we need some back up guards, but we need a PF now to contend in the West more than anything...

Well, Utah is officially done. There is no excuse for missing the playoffs this year, just like LA has no excuse for winning less than 60 games now.

Lakers does look very scary right now. They are like 96 Rockets plus a 96 Grant Hill when the 96 MJ isn't around.

It looks like that the Lakers will be th obviously next year, and then SA is also going to be really good.

I have a practical suggestion, that is to tank next year, and then maybe we can draft a guy like emeka okafor. That way, it'll solve our pf problem, and it also give use a deeper talent pool down the road. Winning a championship next year seems not very probable, in my mind, if a championship can't be won, we may as well go for the lottery.

I'm no fan of Malone, but you have to admire playing for the minimum in an attempt to get a ring. The mail just got delivered to LA.

Barkeley did the same thing, but he eventually retired ringlessly. All respect to Sir Charles. May Karl Malone never win a title, Amen.

So, you are basing the Rockets' improvement to championship status on the decline of the other teams ahead of them rather than their own improvement, eh? Good plan! If we're really patient and keep reciting that we're still a young team, everyone else in the West will grow old and die while we'll be...wait a minute! Won't we get old as well?

Amen, indeed. I suppose this is probably in the wrong forum, although the Rocks will be affected. May the affect be a good one. (burn, Jazz! ha, ha... and give us you're cap space while you're at it)
