Bottom line: Have we seen the last of Dream as a Rocket?

With Dream not making the roadtrip and not coming off of the injured list, it got me thinking that I may have seen the last of Hakeem Olajuwon as a Houston Rocket. I am a Rocket fan because of the career Hakeem has had with the organization and that will always remain, however my support of the team does not end with Olajuwon. If he leaves I will definately be upset, but I do believe that it will be best for the team.

If indeed we have seen the last of the Dream as a Rocket, I would like to thank him for some wonderful memories. He has been the greatest athelete this city has ever seen - bar none. It's crazy to think that his career is almost over. Hakeem has been, in my opinion, the greatest center to ever play the game. And though I know he will not be remembered as such by most, he will always hold a special place with me and I can tell that whatever team he winds up with, I will be the first to support him and buy his jersey.

I looked up some all-time stats the other day and found that Hakeem is in the top ten in steals. The other nine? All guards. Hakeem Olajuwon the 7'0" center is in the top ten in steals!!! I mean come on, most media members overlook this, but one day the history books will see that Hakeem was the most versitle, dominate big man that basketball has ever seen. Go ahead and try to argue that point - you won't win. He truly did have a heart of a champion and the thought that we may actually cut him is astounding, but um stuff happens.

No matter what we think of Hakeems actions the last couple months, we all need to take a step back and realize who we are talking about. There would be no Houston Rockets if it wasn't for Hakeem. I'm sure others feel the same way. But Hakeem, no matter where you end up I wish you the best - your my favorite player of all time and this city owes you a great deal. Thanks Hakeem for the memories it's been a Dream ride.

There'd be no Houston Rockets if it weren't for Jeff. He's the only Rocket that deserves any respect from me.

I want Dream to go help Miami succeed. Perfect team for him. (But I'll be upset if he goes to Phoenix. The West is already too tough.)

If he leaves, he'll always have a great legacy. Unfortunately, he's been forgotten here. He deserves a last chance to shine.

    ROXTXIA -
Not much chance for Miami (barring a 3rd party). It takes ALL of the following Heat players to match Dreams contract:

Majerle, Duane Causwell, Ceballos, A.C. Green, Ricky Davis, Don MacLean, & Eddie House.

I don't think they'd gut their team for the Dream and I don't think they'd part with Grant or Jones and we don't need Tim Hardaway.

    I just don't feel he's going anywhere.
