thank you. i have just recently started to read on flyertalk. and hopefully soon my credit will be good enough for the sapphire preferred.

going to europe asia and south america in the last 3 years has made me really want to travel. so i need a way to maximize my points to get there.

Don't want to derail the topic, but you may want to do some more research on which card would be best. I would look into a card that gives you a good bonus up front, and good reward points.

Barclaycard Arrival Plus - 40k bonus points, 2 miles per dollar, and they give you an extra 10% if you spend your miles on travel. This is the same bonus, but more points than the sapphire preferred offers. $89 annual fee after 1st year.

Capital One Venture - 40k bonus, 2 miles per dollar. Almost as good as the one above, but they don't give the extra 10%. $59 annual fee after 1st year.

The Chase Sapphire gives you the 40k bonus points, but only 1 point per dollar, unless it's on travel. $95 annual fee after 1st year.

So if your credit is good enough to get any of them, assuming each point is worth $.01....if you plan to spend $15k or more, I'd go for the Barclaycard. If you plan to spend less than $15k, I'd go for the Captial One.

    Good luck!

Yeah, I just a bought a 250 dollar amazon gift card at Kroger on a day they were doing 4X points. 5% back from chase and then a dollar off each gallon of gas at almost 25 gallons. 250-25-25=200. Which is pretty sweet.

Just got an extra 50 points for doing the survey found on the receipt. Didn't take too long, compared to other receipt surveys.

I didn't know chase let's you get 5% back on gift cards, I thought it had to be a non taxable grocery purchase. That's pretty awesome, I'm going to wait for the 4x promotion!

I think I'll go ahead and make the trip. Are these the cougar type MILF's or the godly conservative types (that keep their immense sexual frustrations built up in their minds). Either way, win win!

I drove over to Costco Gas earlier today and they wouldn't honor my Kroger points. After arguing with them for 20 minutes telling them grocery is grocery they asked me to leave.

How do you set a senior up for senior discount? And what other Kroger benefits do you get?

I discovered Kroger gas last year. I get a $1.00 off per gallon every time, because my family shops there so much & I'm the only one who goes there for gas! :D

I miss Texas. I saved a bunch of money at "Ralph's"...which means still paying 2/gallon :(
