Terry is the only one consistent 3pt shooter except Harden. I don't want to see a bunch of 3pt brickers in playoff games.
Down 2 on the road playoff game 6 seconds left, the only guy not named James on this team I want taking that shot is jet. Screw your trade asset bs, dude has to be here for the post season
either terry or canaan gets traded before the deadline. DM may want to move terry to force mchale to play canaan, or package canaan with other large expiring contracts and picks in order to land a better player. i think that shved, papa, canaan, and picks, will be the rockets offer around the deadline looking for a PG in return. that's enough to match salaries with dragic, rubio, and lawson. we'd have to include terry and more if we wanted to match salaries for deron williams (with his contract and injury status i doubt it. reggie jackson is also on the market but i dont think the thunder want to deal with us again. their fans would revolt. considering how good the suns are doing, i don't think dragic is going to be traded. they'll try for the playoffs. rubio is unjured and can't shoot. i think the best option is lawson. nuggets losing and looking to sell off pieces, lawson fits our team, we have plenty of expirings/picks/young players for them to rebuild around. that's my guess. papa/shved/canaan/picks for lawson.
Better be careful.... And to those that wants to disregard leadership better think again. Anybody that has ever played any real meaningful sports knows what leadership is and what it looks like and the effect it can have on a team, good or bad. Plus when you add in his shooting that is a big plus. I wouldn't trade him, just my opinion.
Is it out of this world to think that we trade him, he gets bought out, waits a month and returns to us for the stretch run and playoffs?
I hope we don't get rid of him. He is a consummate professional, a clutch 3 point shooter. Besides that, he adds more value to this team than just shooting some 3's. He is a veteran leader, a great voice in the locker room, a guy the kids look up to, championship experience, a good cheer leader - lots of intangibles.
Maybe McHale loves him, but Morey hasn't been afraid to ship off guys the coach wanted to keep before. Terry's been a benefit to the team, but it's not like we'd trade him in a cap dump or for a second round pick. If Morey's putting him in a trade, it's to get something worthwhile for the playoff run. Even if we lose something with Terry, we'll also be gaining something, so it's an idea worth entertaining.
You're constantly trolling. If I had the resources to go back through all of the film in the NBA over the past several years, I would provide you a statistic for this. You can very plainly see that teams with a veteran presence on the court are more calm and collected in high pressure situations. That's my hypothesis, and I think if you go back and look at young teams that have that veteran presense versus those that do not, you'll see that the young teams with no veteran presense crumble in high pressure situations.
True. The other end of the spectrum is old guys tend to wear down under the pressure and intensity of younger, more athletic players going up against them in a long playoff run. Older guys in their late 30's tend to lose their legs and their shot goes with their legs as they play towards a championship.
8 of the 10 oldest teams to start the season are currently in the playoffs. 3 of the 10 youngest teams are currently in. Obviously, players get better as they get older, but it stands to reason they become better leaders as well.
Alex Kennedy is a Grade A Tool. Nothing he says should ever be posted. Ever. The only way Terry is traded, is if someone offers a 1 (never happening), or DM gets a gold mine of a Star that takes 15m to get.
We all know how aggressive Morey is with trades so I'm going to put this rumor at 50/50. However unless we get a top guy like dragic, I really really don't want to trade Terry. Terry has been the biggest cheerleader on the bench for the rockets, getting the team and fans pumped up. The fans at the stadium already need help getting loud. When he's on the court he plays smart, doesn't take bad shots and has very good passing. I also think he's the glue to the band of brothers which is vital to our second unit. Last but not least he pissed mavs fans off every time he makes a three and also when he shows enjoyment of being a rocket. Don't do it Morey. I really hope we get some more garbage time for capela. Or we need to look for a backup c. It sucks we couldn't keep tarik over Dorsey. what I'm worried about is dmo getting into foul trouble and Dorsey needing to play extended minutes while d12 is out.
He's the glue to the band of brothers in my opinion. Brewer and jsmith are better skills wise but they are more wild and play on instinct. Terry plays smarter and connects the dots for the 3.
Very simple...name the last team that won the NBA championship with mostly young players? You have to have veteran stars or veteran role players. Spurs, Heat, Mavericks, Celtics, Lakers, Rockets, Bulls...check out their average ages on the rosters. Drew Brees just came out and mentioned the reason for their struggles is a lack of veterans on the team...their main point of focus this season is to get guys on the roster that have been around the block. Veteran leadership is huge in all sports.
Well if Dwight is going to miss significant time and/or be very limited, might as well punt and use Terry's contract instead of Papa's and go all in for Dragic to try to maximize 2015-16.
There's no way we get dragic for pap, jet and NO pick. we would probably have to include dmo who's our best trade piece and why would you do that if dragic is hitting free agency after this season.
