Perhaps you noticed the lack of specificity in my statement indicating that it can be applied any number of ways ...thusly indicating it isn't a single answer. ;)

But if you're open minded you need to be receptive to the possibility of one thing being the answer.

One thing I have learned from Daryl Morrey is that a team does not acquire players just to have players. There are plenty of 7' guys who can stretch their arms up and plenty of 6' guys with court vision. Likewise, there is no need to build light rail just to have light rail.

If a problem can be fixed with a single solution, it wouldn't be a "complex" problem.

Lets keep this silly conversation in context. Are you suggesting we replace all cars with subways?

Point A: Transportation is a complex issue.
Point B: Buses alone (or subways alone) won't solve all our problems.

I don't recall anybody ever anywhere that said that.

Complex problems can be solved with simple solutions. Like the internal combustion engine.

In the future- driverless cars and star trek transporters.

I've never seen anybody driving a combustion engine. They would be pretty uncomfortable to sit on. Plus they don't roll very well.

Have cars park on the highway and have the lanes move!

That's kinda beside the point. Houston had a referendum and chose this course of action. Now, supposed civil servants are attempting to subvert the referendum by hijacking state agencies to prevent Metro from executing on the will of the people. It can be the stupidest idea in the world and it shouldn't matter. That's what we voted for.

Sure you can. But, I think you'd do yourself a disservice by allowing a referendum be undermined. You prefer the outcome this time, but next time it might not go your way just because some friend of Culberson's has a different opinion than you.

Whenever this hits, it'll be the single greatest advancement to transportation infrastructure in history.

I suspect you're right. We'll look back and laugh at all the money pissed away on rail. Let's move to the future, not rehash 19th century transportation forms

In 2017, Cadillac will release an almost driverless car.
