Lol. DMO has been really consistent on both ends of the floor for the whole season. He can fill pf and c positioms for us. We dont have to stress about Howard or TJ missing a game or two, because we both know that Donatas will be up for the challenge.
its perhaps 1st or 2nd game where DMO was not so efficient as ussual...still gave us 16 important points and 5 rbs ...hustled and played OK D to help us win against Mavs without Dwight Howard... those misses on offense are clearly out of rust for not being used on offense as much as he deserves... its hard to stay motivated and play efficiently seeing that those less talented than you still get your shots and are being revarded for playing bad....
I would understand saying DMo is the best low post player we have on the team if he showed it in the playoffs but he hasn't seen the floor however I've seen what Dwight does come playoffs.
Mavs proved today that he would have problems in Play-offs if teams pay attention to his game. His game is readable, atleast in first half he got blocked in the post, Nowitzki did good job defensively against him and he was not punkin' anyone cause they was ready and didn't bite.
Not really. It's not that his game is readable, it's that his moves sucked against Mavs. He rushed his shots, didn't have a plan what he's going to do... He didn't look great out there.
he made a couple 3's, which was nice. defense was passable. securing rebounds needs to improve though.
Can't really see anything that wrong with his game today or even lately. If these are his "awful" games then that is fantastic.
I've noticed few people complaining about Dmo and want him to be traded. I really don't see purpose in that. Detroit got rid of Smith and started winning and as soon as he got to Houston he's been doing the same things. On the court there's always few guards that handle the ball and still he tries to be the play maker who usually leads offense to a turnover. Also there was someone who called Dmo predictable... Then how predictable is Dwight?? Terrence Jones has proved in the passed that he lacks of defense in the post. He's undersized in the 4 position on the defensive end. If Rockets want to keep this season still exciting and advance to at least 2nd round of the playoffs DMO is a necessity.
Mavs game planned for him down low. It was obvious. Most of the time had multiple defenders in there. But he was wide open more often than not in the corners. For DMo to become a truly great player he's got to be able to go out to the corner with regularity and knock them down and then he's got to be able to drive the ball in off the defensive overplay to his shot. We will see if he develops that far. I don't know. He's good in the post but when he goes up against bigger centers like Tyson Chandler and they are getting help on him, he's going to struggle a bit. I still wish he was more physically aggressive. He gets worked over way too often on the glass. Don't like how he rebounds. Needs to bend his knees, lower his center of gravity and bang with the big boys.
Super overrated? Were you even here the beginning of the season? Plenty hated him and he improved loads since.
So, let me understand According to this thread, it is a problem that DMo struggled last night even though the team won, but it is not a problem that Dwight was good in the playoffs yet the team lost? Isn't the object to win the game? DD
When teams starting focusing on you (watching tape ect.) its totally different than flying under the radar and that goes for any player. Opposing teams will take away your strengths and exploit your weakness's. Players like Harden and Howard see that type of attention every night. DMO as a 2nd option will have to just get used to teams focusing on him now since the cats out of the bag on him.
As I feared would happen his post game is regressing with the inconsistent touches. He's back to shooting too quickly instead of patiently doing his thing. They've been looking for him down low a little more with Howard out, hopefully he regains his form. His has gotten very reliable with that corner 3,that could be huge moving forward.
Trade him to Spurs, and let him develop further more , and resign him 2 years from now for big $, otherwise he will never develop under McHale.Maby only if front office steps in.
