He said in a round table that he wants to end his career here and win a championship in houston. And if he leaves he'll probably retire soon.
Morey probably dangles every player to see their worth. They can't be assets unless they are worth something.
Maybe I'm being a homer but my team has Harden, Howard, Ariza, Smith, Beverly, Brewer, Motiejunas, Jones, Terry, etc. Phil Jackson and Pat Riley could lead this team to a Championship. I like Mchale but more talent is not what this team needs.
Terry balances this lockeroom...Would really be shocked if Terry gets traded...And if he does, you already know that the guy will ask for a buyout and rejoin the Mavs...something I'd hate to see. Terry will be valuable in the postseason...
this. Terry is valuable to our chemistry/leadership. if a contract filler is needed it'll be in the order of: Shved, Papa (next year a TO), Terry, Brewer. this Alex guy probably not aware of Shved & Papa's contract situation.
Sure, but we have to wait until the deadline to do any deal involving Shved, if we wanted to do a deal before that, we'd need to find contracts to match salary elsewhere.
LOL at chemistry/leadership comments. You know what would help more than Terry being a "leader"? Him and his contract being part of a trade that brings in someone like Lawson. FWIW, I'm fine if the Rockets keep Terry, but it's because he's a good three point shooter not his "leadership" or "locker room presence" ... which can't be measured so probably not something we should use as a good or bad thing for players since you'd be making up how much it actually matters.
Must keep Terry. He will hit big shots in big moments in the playoffs. He's been there before and I will be pissed if he is dealt
this too. outside of harden, we have no clutch players on this team. terry can make shots under pressure.
If you are acquiring talent , you probably aren't dealing with a contender to begin with at this time of the year.
Seriously? How is anyone possibly surprised by this? I'm not an insider or anything, but it seems like Daryl Morey is constantly 'dangling' our players to see if there is anyway that he can get some kind of upgrade. All the time. Constantly. If I was an NBA insider, during any offseason or trade deadline, I would just send out a tweet 'Rockets gauging interest in their players to see if they can get any other better players". Or, just a choose a random Rockets player and it will probably be correct. This sometimes gives the Rockets a bad rep. That they don't value chemistry and they just treat their players like expendable assets. But there is a big difference between 'dangling' a player, gauging a player's value around the league and actively shopping. I just think the Rockets are constantly trying to pursue any potential angle for a move that could help improve the team, no matter what it might take.
His expiring contract still helps the Rox if we keep him, dunno why ppl think we have to trade him or we're wasting his exp contract. Having a veteran like JET for playoffs then 5+ mil coming off the books at end of season is not a waste. Maybe we could sign him for less or scare Cuban into overpaying for him this summer by offering close to the same. Parsons & JET costing Mavs 20+ mil a season next year would be funny
