You never followed his path before
    PLEASE don't start now.
You've always been better than that

Whether the Rockets Trade Hakeem is one thing
but for me. . . it WILL hurt to watch
    him struggle like Patrick
    NO MATTER WHERE HE IS

I just hope he doesn't embarass himself

too late, he's already doing it.

i've tried to withhold comment on this situation, because it is sickening. sickening how one man's overinflated ego can jade his view of the truth so badly. hakeem, has been washed up - MENTALLY - for years now. still, we hung on. we believed his unintentional lies about being in stellar conditioning. we believed his intentional lies about being loyal to the organization. and now we see the how oil and water don't mix. water flows naturally. that's the rockets' organization. oil is slick, slippery, greasy, and dirty. IMO, that's hakeem. slick enough to play the hero. slick enough to pretend to be loyal to the people of houston (at least when the cameras are on). but catch that man outside of the media circus and you'll see that he can be an ornery, ego-inflated jerk.

don't mistake me, i appreciate the championships and the JOB he did for 10+ years. but the last few years of watching a man give a half-assed attempt on the court, all the while collecting a paycheck big enough to carry in a hefty cinch sak is more than i care to deal with. if this is how it's going to be, then get out. and stay out. we'll retire your number, as you have done quite a bit for the city, via your accomplishments on the court 4 years ago.

you know, not to rant more, but...

if hakeem would hustle on the damn court, jump for rebounds, bend down for loose balls instead of stabbing at them like an icefishing eskimo, he would have trade value. imagine if the jazz where to try and trade karl malone. even at 75, or however old karla is (ok, 38), almost every team in the league would call. why? cause he brings it. every damn night. how bout stockton? same thing. how bout kevin willis? same thing.

talk about someone being 38 going on 68. and just as freaking cantankerous. bitter, bitter, bitter. and delusional. i saw someone claim that hakeem could average 20-10 in the east. would that be 20 shots and 10 turnovers? cause the man moves like icy molasses on the baseline now. and his decisions have been even slower. leadership? where? when have we ever heard of hakeem truly taking another big man under his wing on the rockets? you know, returning the favor moses did for him??? i never have. and that's sad.

i'm so disgusted, i at first suggested releasing him. but now, i've changed my mind. the inmates DO NOT run the asylum. if you want to pout and hold your breath till you turn blue, i say do it! but do it on the IR. i'd refuse to accommodate his desires, especially after he has compromised the rocket's trading ability by not fulfilling his obligation to stay in shape and give 100% on the court every time out.

    :disgusted:

i know it's not a graemlin, but it should be.

What the FUCI< are you talking about lsat couple of years. Last year he was injured and before that he was 18/10 with barkley on the team. He still shot over 50% and the rest of his game was good to so I think you need to just shut up when you don't know what the hell you are talking about.

    i love to ruffle feathers.

    look buddy,

i realize you're a big hakeem fan. that's cool. so was i. i'll never forget the man that played like a small forward trapped in a big man's body. but answer me this: the last few years (yes, that includes the 18-10 season of 2 years ago), have you not seen a serious decline in hakeem's effort level? even when barkley was here, i thought the rockets played better with barkley on the floor. whether you agree or not, fine. but make no mistake, hakeem level of hustle was declining rapidly. numbers or not, he stopped jumping for rebounds. numbers or not, he stopped sprinting up the court. that was part of the reason we got chuck.

as for the breathing difficulties, i played (as i'm sure MANY others have) ball in hs and college w/breathing difficulties. and yes, there were times when it affected the number of minute i could play. but it never affected the amount of hustle i gave out. i still dove for balls and jumped for boards. even if it was for 20 minutes, instead of 40. can you honestly say you've seen the same from hakeem in the last 3-4 years? i can't.
