well, i guess Carter was given the open spot, even though it was said he might decline. ------------------
Nah. Although he's taking some classes at NC, they're over in early August. Camp for the USA team starts around August 23. But is Carter actually going to get some minutes, or will he be a 12th man like Gugs was? ------------------ "He was electrifying. Im sure the fans enjoyed it. It was fun to watch. I had a good seat, but I really didn't enjoy it." --Clippers coach Jim Todd on Steve Francis
yah, i read about how it won't affect his classes. I doubt he will be a 12th man. If he is, there will probably be a lot of angry fans at Rudy. ------------------
I think he deserves the spot. Plus, the NBA won't pass up a chance to parade their new 'toy' around the world to get him exposed to the international market. ------------------ I have a dream.........his name's Hakeem.
Good choice....he's one of the few young players I would actually pay to watch. Speaking of Vince, I was opening up a box of cards before the game and pulled out a Carter autograph. Anyone got a clue as to what it's worth? ------------------ Jen Always defending You-Know-Who
Good choice....he's one of the few young players I would actually pay to watch. That's funny Jenna, 'cause Karl said the same thing. LOL! (scary, y'all... really scary). Personally, I wouldn't pay to watch anyone play and have yet to pay to get into a basketball game. I doubt I ever will. That's one thing I have to agree with Mr. Malone on. I'm a fan of basketball, but I'll be danged if I'm shelling out that kinda money to watch guys playing. Hell, at least the Romans had it to where somebody would end up dead -- now that's suspense! Geez. ------------------ <this space for rent>
Dr. of Dunk - You know, Karl and I are frighteningly (is that a word????) similar. Heck, if I grew about a foot, put on 125 pounds, shaved my head, changed my race and gender, and learned how to set better picks (I'm a roller myself), we would be practically the same person. We do many of the same things, like the same foods (except I refuse to eat Caribou stew...that stuff just doesn't smell right), are from the same place - similar upbringings, except I was a bit luckier in that area. Are you really shocked that we would say the same thing about the same person? Do you think that wasn't totally scripted several weeks ago? BTW, everyone wish Karl a speedy recovery....he's got a super bad case of the flu, and I honestly don't want to see him play like he did in Vancouver again. That was just sad, and a little scary! ------------------ Jen Always defending You-Know-Who
