I thought Klay Thompson = Chandler Parsons around this board? Now Klay Thompson is a superstar? Chandler Parsons is offended.
Maybe Nash should. In fact I'm sure there's many years when your cockamamy rule doesn't apply it's just that 94 and 95 came to mind. statistically it was keMp. Irrelevant because olajuwon did not have a historically dominant season per your rules. Yes there were adjusted measures back then that highlighted Robinsonso clear statstical superiority. Lol, so we should use raw stats in order to undercut Robinsons advantage in 94. We should use adjusted stats to undercut Hardens raw stat advantage in 2015. Just because. Fact - Robinson's regular season 1994 and 1995 wereally statistically dominant in a way Hakeem never touched. In fact they were historically dominant. Basically the numbet of guys who put up multi yea r stretch like that = Wilt, Shaq, Jordan, LeBron. That's it. In History. Why you're being such a little b**** who is denigrating Harden using an Ill conceived syllogism.
No I get what you're saying. I just don't buy into the "best player on the best team" argument. Never have. I didn't think DRose should've won it when he was the best player for the best team. And he actually had a better case that year than Curry does this season. The fact is that James Harden is having a better individual season. Curry is leading his team in scoring by .2 points. Harden is averaging 10 more points than our next best scorer. You can't base the MVP on one aspect. There's a handful of requirments. Theres so many reasons GSW is this good, you take Curry away and they still make the playoffs. Take Harden away from the Rockets and we're in the lottery. There does have to be some team success, but we aren't talking about that much of a difference here in terms of team success. I still would give is a shot against them in a playoff series. So for your hypothetical statement to be right, you'd have to also swap their stats, and overall individual success this season. But you didn't say that, you said if we had the best record and harden was our best player we would all be chanting MVP, and I agree. But if you're only swapping the names next to the stats and record (putting Curry in Hardens place and vice versa) then I would say curry is the MVP. Don't confuse my reading comprehension with your unwritten assumptions.
He's young, I think he can grow into a better playmaker. But if he doesn't, pair him up with any one of the dozens of really good PGs in the league right now and he'd average 25.
I think both Steph and Klay would struggle to get into the upper 20s on average in scoring because neither can get to the line like your typical star player. Steph doesn't have the size when he gets inside and Klay just doesn't have the ball handling and speed with the ball. They both already shoot the ball nearly as many times as Harden per game. Harden makes more FTs per game then those 2 combined. I guess if you put them on a team where they could get up 20 shots they could get into the high 20s, but their inability to get to the line like the elite is what really holds them back from scoring more.
That's probably a fair assessment. I just think Klay would flourish as "the guy" while Steph is what he is at this point. I don't mean that negatively, Steph is a superstar and a legit MVP candidate. I just see more room for improvement and a higher ceiling in Klays game.
THen based on your definition, how valuable you are depends in large part depends on how selfish and incompetent the people around you are.
Well he's at 22 with the league MVP. Has a ways to go. I am not convinced yet. He looks like he can be shutdown by trapping the screens and is freed up by having an even better player in the lineup with him.
I wouldn't brag about having to iso Harden every possession down the stretch when Curry can probably do the same thing except it makes more sense to move the ball and play like a team. Talent for talent the Rockets are probably superior to the Warriors. They're just more cohesive.
I love you make it sound like our players suck. They played bad against warriors doesn't mean the rest of the squad sucks. They play generally good against other good teams. We just don't have another true scorer on our team. N we could use some depth at the pg spot and possiably pf/c.
Look. If we had this much success while we were stuck with our roster from two years ago. I'd probably agree that Harden is THE MVP candidate. But, I also think the MVP is kind of two-folded in the sense that it's also about league popularity. Outside of Houston, I don't know many people who actually like Harden's amazing skill set. Some people think his ability to draw fouls is cheap, and he's already been skewered for his supposed lack of defense. I mean, the media has never been fair to the Houston Rockets. Of course, Curry is the new media darling, but to make a case that Harden is THE MVP because our team struggles more and their team's players are doing their role? That's just silly. Curry is putting up amazing numbers and their team is winning. That gets attention and no one has made a compilation of Curry's "amazing defense." To be quite honest, I could care less if Harden or Curry wins the MVP. Because what I really want is for Harden to win the Final's MVP.
I don't really care who gets MVP. In fact, I hope Curry gets it. We need to win a playoff series first and foremost, before anything. Daryl Morey needs to balance this roster, and get James some more quality two way players.
No dummy, how much more valuable you are to your team.. An to say that player for player the Rockets have more talent is just dumb. They basically have 4 previous and current All-Star caliber players, 2 that can start for our team come off their bench.
Then their would be no argument from anyone anywhere from GS to Australia know why, cause curry has a better... EVERYTHING.
