Okay...the old desert island routine...Remember that this is a very convenient island, coming as it does with electricity, and all the needed equipment...but assuming it exists, and you were stranded on a desert island, what would be your choice for each of the following (ONLY 1 pick each, not for the Charlie Browns of the board...)

    Album/CD:

    Book:

Famous woman/man/other to partner up with:

    Movie/DVD:

    Video/Computer Game:

    Food of Choice:

I said famous person to avoid people feeling the need to say their significant other, plus most of us won't know what that means...

    Album: The Clash: London Calling

Book: Chicot the Jester By Alexander Dumas

Famous Woman: Either Jeneane Garafolo or maybe Kim Deal. I need more than just physical stimulation.

Movie: Caddy Shack (My favorite is Spinal Tap but I know it so well that I can watch it in my imagination on that island all the time.) On another day I might say Lawrence of Arabia. It's good and is also long so it would occupy my time. It also might inspire me to stay alive.

Computer game: Either Star Wars Galaxies or Everquest

    Food: Alaskan King Crab Legs.

    Album/CD: Beethoven's Fifth Symphony

Book: Leaves of Grass - Walt Whitman

Famous woman/man/other to partner up with: Eckhart Tolle (He's a spiritual teacher. I figure if I'm going to be stuck on a desert island, I might as well become enlightened while I'm there).

    Movie/DVD: Hannah and Her Sisters

Video/Computer Game: I don't play video games. Can I trade this for a deck of playing cards instead?

    Food of Choice: Pizza

You're back on my Christmas list...

But I thought that surely Louis XIV would be your other of choice...

Album/CD: Something I mixed on my computer...I don't like only one band/singer enough to be stuck with them forever

Book: The Sweet Potato Queen's Trilogy (Book of Love, God Save the Sweet Potato Queen's and Cookbook and Finincial Planner-what a great girls' book!)

Other person: I would ideally pick a non-famous person (who should know who he is) but if I had to go famous, I'd pick Tom Hanks. He has a boyish charm as well as some depth.

Movie: Legally Blonde...quite possible the best movie to support girls and their independence (a chick flick not just about the guy but more about finding herself)...next would be Office Space or Pretty Woman. But Cinderella would be temping too (I'm such a romantic girly girl!)

Video/Computer game: Tough one since I don't play much...something silly like Sims or I'd get an extra movie or unlimited crossword puzzles

Food: Anything Tex-Mex....or anything with cream cheese!

Well sure, he had great legs when he was alive. But after a couple hundred years in the ground he's probably not so hot now.

Album/CD: Atlantic R&B Box Set or Abbey Road

Book: The Dharmapada (teachings of the Buddha)

Famous woman/man/other to partner up with: Norah Jones or Nancy Wilson (we could jam)

    Movie/DVD: Stripes

Video/Computer Game: Actually, I'd prefer a musical instrument - guitar or bass

Food of Choice: Stuff for making sandwiches.

    Dude...you're a Buddhist?

That explains some stuff, for ' many do not know that we are here in this world to live in harmony. Those who know this do not fight against one another.' seems to be your creed, excepting arena and race related issues...;)

No, I'm not a Buddhist. See Mrs. JB's answer to the "famous person" category. :)

I've looked over Mrs JB's copy. Sadly, I'm not as much of a reader as I once was. But, when you're on a desert island...

3814...Glad you responded, because my reply in your Coming to Toronto post the other day might have sounded like a shot, given your sig, which I didn't see till afterwards...and by then the thread had been locked. I wanted to know your age so I could recommend appropriate things to do in Toronto. E-Mail me details of when, what you like to do, etc. and I'll give you some tips...
