I was gonna say that that's one mighty big phallus, but then I realized, hey, we're Rockets fans...which means that , looked at from a Freudian perspective, we all root for a bunch of big d1cks...
Personally, I don't think it is horrible, but it seems like the "award winning artist" was trying for some sort of hip, 70's feel. I think it will look good on the uni's, but I would rather see HOUSTON or ROCKETS incorporated. Keep It Simple Stupid

Being half the age of most of the poster on this board, I have to say the reason a lot of you don't like is probably because you are TOO OLD . To be honest, I think it is trying to appeal to the younger audiences, the ones who will grow up and take their kids to Rockets games. It's sleak and futuristic, something that would appeal to young adults and kids. I love the logo, and the uniforms can only get better.
If the purpose of the new logo is to generate more hype & attention... the logo I proposed will do the trick...
its a nice logo. id take it over 75% of other teams logos in the league. its simple, but has an obscure, cryptic edge about it. not a childish saturday morning cartoon logo at all. A big improvment. and next we upgrade over our PJs, then were set.

The dildo is still in the logo..... just a bit more discreet this time. Kind of like trying to find the Playboy bunny on the front cover of a monthly issue..... No teeth at least....
I feel EXACTLY the same, well said. I think the new logo is horrible. I've been waiting to buy a new hat and having only that are on it is just plain and boring. The logo sucks it! Like someone said before, plain is good, but that's disgusting. Much better versions had to have been done and rejected or something cuz that thing just sucks. The only way that logo could turn out alright is if our colors are red and black, that would be badass. With black being the main color, it'd look sweet. I like the '96-'02 more than this s**t, the San Diego Rockets logo was better than this new one.
I have no clue what lots of u are b****in about. That logo is great(IMO), and some people are saying that it's too simple when they're the ones that wanted it that way.
first time i saw it.. it was super gay.. to been waiting for so long.. but now.. come to think of it.. its growing on me and i think i like it
something else I realized while I was away getting my hair cut. . . the Rockets/Tim/Judas/etc. don't care what any of our opinions are. they only care about the opinions that go "cha-ching" at the cash registers. it will be very interesting to see how many of the people in this thread who "hate" the new logo will buy shirt after hat after jersey with the bloody thing on it. if the merchandise sells, they won't give a flying flip about whether the logo has made a good first impression. if it doesn't sell, they will. given what it's replacing, the stuff will sell. I think they made a blunder by releasing it previous to the jersey. my hunch is that it will look better in the context of the jersey, and it's not like they're selling any new merchandise anyways. like DCballer referenced, it probably looks best on the new jerseys. anyway, if you really hate it so much, don't buy anything with the logo on it.
