Go to nba.com and look at all the other logos. Then come back and look at our new one. It's not bad, but it's too plain. Oh well, maybe it'll look better on the uniform.
What stands out about this logo is that nothing stands out...it will be best remembered for being forgettable...I neither love it nor hate it, in fact it would be hard for me to be more ambivalant...One great big yawn. My only caveat is this: I like clean lines on unis, and hopefully this is a sign of things to come in that regard.
It looks more like a logo for a night club in Manhattan than it looks like anything related to a basketball team. Geez...
I like the logo.... but Les should have let an elementary school design it and saved all the money that whats-her-name stole from him, they would have got a similar product.
well maybe the jerseys will be awesome but i really cant picture what there gonna look like i gotta bad feelin that its gonna be that big R on 1 side and the number on the other
That Cleveland logo looks horribly childish and corny, if you ask me, just like our last one. You guys remind me of those comic book fans who fail to see the greatness and Jack Kirby, Neal Adams, John Buscema and John Romita, and are easily impressed by the flashy and overdetailed artwork of say, Rob Liefeld or Todd Macfarlame. The logo is stylish, sober, and it has a "we mean business" attitude to it. It's growing on me. If the uniform has a design that is as simple and stylish as the logo, it will look great.
My thumbs are not up! My first thought was that of some Dracula movie. My next impression was something coming out of a hole. My third impression was Heypartner's ballerina (tutu) discussion. My fourth thought ... well, to cut to the chase, the logo never brought out a basketball thought in me.
Isn't she only designing the uniform? I am not sure what to think about it. At first I thought it was too plain, but if you put it beside the old logo, it is much nicer. That old logo is hideous.

Thank god it's red. I didn't even notice the "H" until someone mentioned it. I'll get used to it, but the uniforms better be kick-a**. codell, you like the Cleveland logo?? It's OK, but the sword looks like one of those things they put olives on. If I had to choose between the 2, I'd pick the Rocks new watchamacallit. (the thingamaB-Bob)
I LIKE THE LOGO! Just what the Dr. ordered. Now give us the Reebok Street Cut Jersey. Hey Tim where and when can I buy a hat?
Its not necessarily the design of the Cleveland logo that I like better, its the multiple color combinations. Its attractive, sword or no sword. Its all about the contrast IMO. (that sword is no where near as bad as our rocket with teeth ) I am sure the uniforms will have the silver color be more prominant.
After further consideration: When I think of sports team logos and fonts I usually think of the lettering and icon "moving." Many teams have these images leaning slightly to the right. This is probably due to the fact that we read left-to-right and therefore this would denote "forward motion." These designs not only demonstrate the physical movement forward, but also a metaphysical movement into the future. The new Rockets logo doesn't seem to have much motion. The "trails" supposedly shooting out of the bottom of the "rocket" look more like something "dangling" or just hanging there. We're the freaking ROCKETS for crying out loud. Our last logo was horrid, to say the least, but there's no denying the "movement" of the design. This is just something I thought about while staring at the new design, trying to make myself understand. Any thoughts on this concept? p.s. I know the Texans font doesn't lean forward, but the bull's head is definitely running forward.
Oh, Lord. It just dawned on me. What if the uniforms are bright silver trimmed in red (rather than the other way around) so each team member looks like a little missile?
Your right about comparing it to the "object with teeth"... that thing was hideous. We'll see about the uniforms. I'm surprised that there is no platinum or silver (whatever the contrasting color is) in the logo. I know you were trying to add some to it with your redesign effort. (you're a brave guy, dude! )
