IF we just let Hakeem go with no Trade
    How likely is this?

    Things to consider:
Who can offer him more money? [chicago, etc]
Who can offer him a Championship in 2~3 years
    besides us?
Who does he have ties too.

If we look at NY - he has spree, he in big
market, championship game is not out of the
question [but the actualy championship would be hard]

Detroit - they are behind us in rebuilding
but do they have money? we know they have the
    Ties

    anyone else?

Dallas has players that SAC will want and that they can rebuild around after Webb leaves.

A sign & trade will allow Webber to keep his bird rights.

Another thing to ponder is this whole Dream fiasco. If Dream is traded for the bunny or is waived and signs elsewhere, how does Hou expect to claim it has a frontcourt strong enough for Webber to sign? Is he going to sign to stand next to Cato? Next to Collier? The Rockets can't be serious about relieving Dream and signing Webber next year. Unless Stern has already promised the #1 (Shaq McHale Ming, Loren Woods) they'd have to be foolish to get rid of Dream before they've solidified the 5 position.

Dream's not going anywhere. I wonder what the 'ass kicker' was, though. I wonder what the handshake deal was around.

    Hmmmm.....

When talking about dollars keep in mind other teams could still make moves to improve their cap situations or do a wink, wink deal where C-Webb signs a 1 year deal with the assumption that a year or two later when cap space is avaialble that he will then get toown the town. SO talking about the dollars is tough to do at this point.

Now who can win. Well his current team of Sacramento is playing very well right now. NY is a great media market where he could become the Shaq of the east. Indiana with his buddy Jalen Rose. Detroit probably won't win real soon, but you never know. They could pull a Miami and get mutiple good players in the off-season. Cuban will find a way to afford C-webb and players love Cuban because of his extras he gives to pamper the players. What if D-rob retires (seems unlikely) and SA goes after him so he could play with Duncan.
Basically any team he signs with in the East would immediately become a championship contender.
I still don't think he will leave Sac. unless the wheels fall off. They can offer him as much or more than anyone else, so I think he will stay.

Unless I am seriously mistaken, the Kings are the team that can offer Webber the most $$$. The Kings are also better than the teams with large amounts of cap, like Chicago, Detroit, etc.

With the Kings, Webber gets the most $$$ and gets to play in the playoffs each year.

If Webber really wants the ring, he can always sign for peanuts with the Lakers next year (along with Dream).

Yes, the Kings can offer Webber the most. Relative to other teams, the Rockets are right there. They can offer him the max for a Tier 2 FA, which is around $12.81. There won't be much trouble in having enough money to sign him, we must concern ourselves with playing well and showing him we can give him a good situation.

As Achebe mentioned, Dallas is in a good position. They have some excellent young players that the Kings could definitely use. IF Webber decides that he wants to get the max from the Kings but not play with them, they can arrange a sign and trade that could benefit both sides to a great extent.

As long as the Rox have 12.81 million under the cap, we could offer Webber the max too, right?

I've been reading the CBA FAQ's and I'm trying to figure some things out.

Also, what about Mooch... does he have early bird rights or not..he signed his 2-year contract in Feb. of last year. I doubt it, but I'm not sure.
