When they are talking about the new uniforms being unique and revolutionary that prolly means ugly and hideous. Remember they were saying the same thing about the current ones. I mean we are talking about a guy who took away the Rockets red n' gold and turned the court into a mural with every color and every star painted on it.. right after 2 champoinships! So expect the uniforms to be anything but simple and cool and more like a design and look that makes it seem like somebody over did it and was trying way too hard. I hope not, because keeping it simple would be the right thing to do. But staying with the traditional red and gold when the franchsie was at its peak would of been the right thing to do. .so who knows what these guys come up with this time.
A truer word has never been spoken. And I don't think it was directed at you, Jeff (from Vandy), but just in general it is much easier to criticize a thing than to defend it. So, I think there will be a tendency to bash, especially after the manic pitch the uniform threads have gotten to.
TRUE THAT!!! AMEN!!! Couldn't have said it better. What Alexander failed to realize is that we have liked the Rockets and considered them a classy organization for a very long time. He didn't need to remake them in his 'New York" image. The Rockets became the premier organization in this town and some of his moves, especially the awful uniform change after the championships has almost decayed the class that took 26 years to build. I hardly know these Rockets anymore.
I saw the Gothic R lastnight, I wouldnt say that is the best description of it. Its a completely red hat with a white R, with what looks like a circle around the R. There was no silver as mentioned, but I am told that the colors are Red & White(as primary colors), and Silver used a trim. My source is completely solid. The unis are supposed to be awesome, the hat was pretty plain but cool.
I saw the logo also think of the R as a rocket itself with a circle around it. Sweet and simple. Very nice.
Someone should make the hat logo they saw in photoshop and post it. Beats Yao Ming in women's clothes any day...
I was pretty excited with the NBA Draft coming because that is when most teams unveil their new team logos. Also because it was also on that day in 1995 that the Rockets unveiled the logo we have now. Hopefully the Rockets will unveil the new logo soon. Anything is better than what the Rockets have now.
