They should have changed the promotion to "free turnovers" once Lin joined the team. In any case, I am all for raising the minimum wage but handing out $16 million a year to someone to simply pass out free tacos to those who can afford Lakers tickets is a bit excessive.
The only joke here is on the Lakers for absorbing the $16 million on the tail end of a terrible contract. That is one expensive draft pick. Daryl Morey should be thanking the Lakers everyday. It's like me paying $100 for a McDonald's cheeseburger, and you agreeing to pay me $50 to finish the rest after I have already eaten 2/3rd of it. I just had to throw in a $5 coupon for a future discount on Panera Bread sandwich for you to bite. We both got killed by terribly overpriced junk food but I am just happy to get out of a terrible situation and recoup half of my money.
