Dude just stop, you were all over surfguy about this being a Houston sports forum then you post this.
Archie Manning and Luck's dad were Oilers together. Ha! I guess you football fans probably already know that.
Yea . . . . Payton still seems to have good touch on the ball That ball was between three defenders only his guy had a shot at it. yet . .. .still a little far Rocket River
But, it still wouldn't have been a catch if it didn't....which seems kind of strange to me and takes the fun out of what a catch is.
If it didn't touch the ground, it would have been a catch. The issue is that the ground caused the ball to come loose before the catch was considered "complete".
Okay...I thought the ball couldn't be moving at all regardless as that wouldn't be in control. I guess I confused myself there.
The Denver Offense is sucking ass right now Rocket River ***** no way either of these teams can beat the RATriots
Based on the way Peyton has finished this season I think next year he'll fall of bigtime, and it will be his last.
The ball is only dead if it touches the ground, goes out of bounds, is touched by someone who is out of bounds, or is in full control of someone who is considered down for whatever reason. Until then, its always a live ball.
Keep in mind he's been injured this whole period of sucking. It's unclear if the injury is any better, but I imagine it makes it harder to plant and get full force on the ball.
So, if Dez would have a tippy-toed five steps and then the rest of the play happened the way it did...is that not a catch? He took 3 steps....not 2. Weird. I thought he only took 2 steps before. 3 steps should always be a catch. The rule needs to be changed.
Question: At end of games . . . .the offense his 1 and 10 seconds left and it is third down and forever. .. . . .The Defense needs to get the ball back to the Offense but has no time out.s . . . what happens if they do and encroachment there? Rocket River
The "steps" were while he was falling down. If he was able to get his balance and then dive voluntarily, it's not an issue. But in this case, the falling was part of the process of the catch.
There are some weird clock rules. Sometimes it starts again, sometimes it doesn't. Never figured out the reason for each circumstance. I've seen it work the other way too - the offense is trying to run out the clock, commits a false start, and then the clock runs again, which seems completely unfair.
