Sorry if this should go in another thread or whatnot. I don't get to watch every second of every game as religiously as I used to, but still have a pulse on this team. That said, I am curious what is the board's thought on the team's current biggest need? I think we have a few, but don't see how we improve everywhere. If we're looking at one area where improvement would most likely help the team make a deep/championship playoff run, what is it?
I'll let others talk about trades; I'll chime in on what we have to work with. 48 minutes! playoff d e f e n s e intensity, now. We have the depth to maintain it all game, finally. No excuses. Let's start doing it now. Or at least, we need that Bulls 4th Q beast, clamp down mode every game and stop the damn turnovers.
A backup center that doesn't need touches but rebounds, blocks shots, and stuffs put backs like his life depended on it
A play-making PG who won't get abused on defense. I don't care if the guys is an elite shooter or an elite finisher we just can't have two guys starting (Bev and Ariza) who can't make the opposition pay for sagging off. Since we don't run plays we need guys who can create off of penetration and put pressure on the Defense.
Easily PG. I'd like a PF that can shoot, and if it's the right PF, I could easily make an argument for them over a PG. But the "right" ones aren't available. All you need to do is compare our guard rotation to our big rotation: Guard rotation: Harden, Beverley, Terry Big rotation: Howard, DMo, Smith
Other: to make the Harden/Howard pick and roll our go to play and build a true motion offense rather than isoing a bunch and calling it read and react.
For some reason, i don't know why we are not playing Sved. It seems like he as the length to d up on other guards... plus he is a Euro, which are players renowned for their innate playmaking/assisting/passing abilities. Look at Big Papa's immediate impact on the team when given the minutes (withstanding his play after injury).
