Ariza gets in his own head on the offensive head too much. He forces a lot of bad shots, or tries to drive into a packed lane when he should just be moving the ball around the perimeter. He's a much better spot-up shooter than a creator. If he just took on a Kyle Korver-type role for us, we'd be set. In fact, due to his length, he can actually pump fake the three and get to the basket better than Korver. His downfall comes when he tries to force mid-range jumpshots. If he goes away from that, he's a very good player on this team. His defense is stellar, and between him, Harden, and Brewer jumping passing lanes, it's been a joy to watch us create all these turnovers.
Absolutely Brewer will regress. Morey didn't get Brewer assuming he'd be shooting 48%+, he didn't get Ariza banking on 40% from distance, he didn't sign Dwight thinking he would improve his post game and put up 23ppg. These players are what they, but what's important is that the team never expected anything else. They're getting what they paid for and that's fair enough.
Doubt it. Kyle Korver is a great shooter. If he was with us and with the offense we have, his FG percentage would probably be slightly lower but his 3pt FGM would be higher.
I'm with Blurr, 37+ minutes is too much for him. He gets wide open shots so you can't blame the Washington system. Most minutes he has ever averaged and the second most was with the Rockets the first time around. Quit Earl Campbelling the guy he is not a damn donkey. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/20nALZkx5SU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I would gladly take that bet. In a heartbeat. Korver is a fantastic shooter. Unfortunately, we will never know. He's not going to end up on the Rockets.
Parsons isn't a great 2 way player. His defense was pretty average at best. But totally agree on Ariza looking exactly like he did the last time we had him. Exactly
Sefolosha wishes he was the next Ariza. Ariza contributed to a championship run. Not saying I expect that again but we know he can be better than he has been.
I really like Ariza, even in the current shooting funk he is in. Every night he brings it defensively and even if he is not shooting it well he is still working within the flow of the offense. No, Ariza is not bad. He is just not a great offensive player. Guess what, neither is Tony Allen and I would like him in this team as well.
I agree regarding Ariza. Just "Right Now" if we start Brewer chances are we minimize these games where we loose by 5-10 points...Ariza comes off the bench while he's shooting cold and becomes a much bigger mismatch and he's FG% doesn't hurt us as much in my opinion. Brewer starts and both our offense and defense gets extra energized
Everyone's solution to any problem is to bench one guy and start another. This is Ariza, great defender, streaky shooter. Brewer is an energy guy, his place is the bench.
He's an energy guy scoring right now and his D isn't shabby. Ariza is shooting 1 for 11 etc.. way too many times and we're loosing by 5 points give or take. All we gotta do is grab a calculator on this.
