[Sad News] I'll be traveling to Dallas next week for work

    Unfortunately there will be a big market showcase for the flooring industry and I'll be at the Grapevine Hilton the later part of next week. I thought about actually going to the Mavs game Weds night decked out in Rockets gear just to be annoying, but I'd rather spend my money a bit more wisely. Any places that won't completely suck my soul away while I'm there? Wish me luck in returning without becoming a "Northerner"

    Just go to fort worth when you go out instead, not that much further than dallas probably the 2nd best city in this state.

    Old west is decent, but a bit overrated - I prefer Babes in Roanoke.

    As far as watching the game - Go to the sports bar at the Gaylord Texan Hotel (very close to the Grapevine Hilton) and watch the game there. There will be less Mavs fans and therefore less annoying. Plus, the screen is gigantic.

    for other food - Esparza's or La Hacienda Ranch in Grapevine for Tex Mex. The only decent pub in that area is Ron's corner Pub in Bedford - lots of other places call themselves "pubs" but don't let the name fool you. The Londoner in Colleyville is decent too. I work and live in the area, so I'll be happy to answer any other questions you have.

    2nd this - The people are much more friendly in FW than in Dallas. Its a completely different vibe - more down to earth and much less pretentiousness. Its actually a pretty cool city.
