P.A. Announcer: Now at center for the Phoenix Suns 7-0 center form the University of Houston Hakeem Olajuwon. Will the crowd boo? ------------------ President of the Steve Francis, Jamal Crawford,Larry Hughes, and Charles Woodson fan club.
Why not just keep him to the end of the season, let him retire as a Rocket? Because he won't retire as a Rocket. He will keep playing, and it will have to be elsewhere, because he doesn't fit the Rockets. Why waive him now, when we can just let him keep him to the end of the season, and then waive him? Because he wants out. This is worth repeating, because it seems nobody gets it: HAKEEM WANTS OUT. Repeat that to yourself a few times until you get it. He doesn't want to play here anymore. He doesn't fit in. And there are several other places where he would fit in, and he wants to go there.
Hmm actually if we got Hardaway he would play "Injured List Bench Warmer" for us. We'd be doing the Suns the favor, giving them cap room and taking an injury prone mistake off their hands. Definitely would rather the cap room... ------------------
I'm glad there is no trade(hope their still isn't). The cap room is so important to us. Trading Dream would only get us more salaries and less cap room. With the cap room for next year we have a possibility of tryign to get Webber, or sign Mo and Shandon, then we have draft picks to better our team more...maybe pick up sometype of rebounder and we're looking good. ------------------
"I just don't understand why the Suns would give us Hardaway and Robinson for Dream. Something very weird is going on. Maybe a 3rd team is involved. And if we got Hardaway where would he play? S.F.?" Think about it. Penny Hardaway is continuously injured and will be nowhere near the player he was in Orlando. He sat out for so long and his knee is still only 60%. The Suns would love to sucker the Rockets into taking Hardaway's salary which can now be characterized as albatross-like considering he may not even be half the player he once was. ------------------ Check out the Best Source for Draft Info Draftsource.net
So what if we add Cato to the deal and still take Hardaway would we have enough money then to go after Webber? Because Cato and Olajuwon make 22mil combined and Hardaway makes about 11 and Robinson makes like 5 0r 6. ------------------ President of the Steve Francis, Jamal Crawford,Larry Hughes, and Charles Woodson fan club.
Lil Francis, are you locked in a dungeon watching tapes from the mid 90s? Penny blows. Fugghedaboutit. ------------------ We're going to stay together until something happens, if something happens. - Sidney Lowe on Shareef's career in Vancouver.
Guys. Please. Some common sense. 1. It´s a waste of time arguing about keeping dream til the end of the year. he´s out, it´s just a matter of when and why. 2. The rockets DON´T value capspace as much as some of you guys think they do. Remember DOC´S LINE: "there was a trade on the table that was an ASS-KICKER for us, but the other team pulled it off" MEANING: the rockets WOULD do the right trade, instead of getting the cap next year. It´s obvious! NOW, would that be Webber? The offer? Not a snowball´s chance in hell! Which means that it MUST have been REEF or a player of GREAT value, and that the rockets WERE READY to deal hakeem for him, but the deal fell through. It may yet be ressurected. The rockets would rather have talent NOW (immediate future immediately) instead of risk a chance with the cap (immediate future). The waiting game goes on... ------------------ "What´s up, Doc?" If we trade Dream and get Penny, CD should just stand up at the press conference and say: "I decided to destroy the Rockets future, we're screwed, and I'm an idiot, but I will answer any questions have on this financial suicide. . ." because if you think Big Country is bad, at least he'll play and somewhat try. Penny is a pathetic joke, a shell of what could have been if he had heart and desire. I would entertain a trade for Cliff Robinson (maybe Cato?), though Robinson isn't exactly a young gun, but no way should we take Penny. Not only is that financial suicide, it's basketball suicide since Penny probably isn't going to contribute much. ------------------ "I have a scale at home and it only goes up so far, I love that scale!" - Charles Barkley TNT Studios
I'm just glad that he didn't call Barkley a fat lazy ass, because he's basically doing the same thing as Pippen, except Pippen maybe had a point.
