My first thought was Dwight but them after hearing him in that interview who knows? My second thought was maybe Michael wants bev to bring the ball up more and harden was not having it. It looked like harden was shying away from the pg role and seemed uninterested at times. But then he ended up with over 30 points so I have no idea. Just for some reason bev and harden seemed off out there together.

Bev says it right: "Need to be unselfish or we are out in the first round".

Some players need to stop looking for touches and play for the ball club.

 

Patrick with his mentality would make sure everyone pick'ed that #### up. We win next game for sure.

 

Our starter lineup has a player that leads the whole league in scoring. The starting 5 can score they just gotta do it.

 

Pat needs to stop dribbling the air out of the ball and actually get Dwight and D-Mo the ball in the post correctly.

That means not giving it to Dwight 2 feet from the 3point line. And actually giving the ball to D-Mo ever, period. He also needs to stop wasting the possession by only passing it to Ariza when none of Harden, Howard, or D-Mo have touched the ball on that trip down the court.

 

The starters just need to learn from the bench last night. Simple as that.

Anyways, in all seriousness, I agree with what the players have said in their interviews. "It's not just one player." With that being said, I have noticed a certain Tracy McGrady quality amongst our starters. Being a season ticket holder the two years we lost to the Jazz in the playoffs (with Yao and McGrady), I could tell before the game based of his body language which TMac would show up for the game. The same is happening with this team. Playing defense only when they want, hustling only when they want, swinging the ball when they FEEL like it. There's something a foot. Whether it's James Harden not liking the acquisition of Josh Smith or the fact that Dwight wants more touches down low. Heck, maybe James Harden is tired from playing his @$$ off every night. Or maybe its as simple as the rest of the starters relaxing a little too much on defense since Dwight has been back, thinking, "I can relax a bit. Big guy has got my back." Whatever it is they do need to "pick that sh** up".

We do need to realize that adding an additional starter is a jolt to the chemistry. No matter how good or bad a player is it'll take time to work the kinks out. I'm not too worried because it's a long season and we have time to figure it out.

I do NOT think it's a good idea to replace Ariza with Brewer in the starting lineup. Brewer provides that "spark" off the bench. Obviously we need that. Let's not take that away.

I do think Josh Smith is the starting 4 we need. I'm telling you people (and McHale or Morey or whoever is listening) run the pick'n'roll or at least a version of the triangle offense with Smith, Harden, & Howard. I know Dwight hates PnR, but at least get it going with Smith & Harden. This breaks the stagnation that is our current offense.

 

John Wall scored 13 points last game. Bev's contribution on defense goes sooooo unnoticed by some of you. One of the best point guards in the league, scored only 13 points. Who was guarding him?

That had nothing to do with anything. Look at the game again and you would see Wall allowing the game to come to him. He didn't start attacking until the 2nd half, one of the reasons why the built that lead. Wall also had 12 dimes.

 

i'd like to see brewer start in place of bev just to know what that line up can do.

 

I thought Josh Smith was a good signing, but I have noticed him just being lazy and not hustling on D and O. Just standing around and jumping for rebounds on both ends or getting after loose balls or running up the court. I know he is a good defensive player, but he has not played like it the last two games. He doesn't even attempt to jump when his guy shoots the ball whether its a jumper or in the paint. He should come off the bench.

Bev is not the answer at PG. I love his hustle, but that is all it is, hustle. He is not that great of a defensive player as many of us thought. All he really is a pest and gets guys frustrated, but he never really shuts anyone down.

Its really crazy that the second unit looks better on offense than the first unit. This is because they move without the ball. DMO needs more touches, point blank. This is all on Mchale.

I never do the knee jerk reactions, but I have been very disappointed in how the starters have played the last two games and at different times of this season when it comes to hustling and playing together.

 

How about making your open 3's Bev, start with that and stfu.
