I ended up well to the right (5.38), and almost dead center on the y-axis (0.10) so I am just on the authoritarian side. I think my harsh treatment of prisoners pulled me away from being libertarian.
I think these questions are kind of loaded to make people come off more libertarian and liberal. Thats what I felt as I was taking the test. I am Economic Left/Right: -0.75 Authoritarian/Libertarian: -4.15. But I know thats not very accurate, at least not the economic part.
Straight-up lefty libertarian. Economic Left/Right: -7.50 Authoritarian/Libertarian: -8.00 But this test isn't exactly scientific. Fun, but not worth much. And, anyway, if you can define yourself with just a number, your political ideas aren't too developed.
Economic Left/Right: -0.38 Authoritarian/Libertarian: -1.90 I came out right on the vertical line for left/right and just below the line leaning more libertarian than authoritarian
Economic Left/Right: 0.00 Authoritarian/Libertarian: 0.00 Smack dab in the middle of all you nut jobs. Looks like I can find common ground with just about anyone.
I'm one left, one down...Jean Chretien. How boring, I always thought I was more radical than that. MacBeth, how the hell does Jean Chretien translate into political action anway? We don't hear much about the politics of the great white North down here in the lower 48 except for socialized ( or socialised) medicine. Jeep
-8.38 -6.41 Let's see.... If the Dalai Lama were Houston on a map, I'd be in Sugar Land egging DeLay's house.
Economic Left/Right: -1.75 Authoritarian/Libertarian: -1.03 Two west and one south... headed toward Gandhi!
Your political compass Economic Left/Right: -6.00 Authoritarian/Libertarian: -3.74 In the Gandhi/Mandela area.
Economic Left/Right: -5.38 Authoritarian/Libertarian: -6.15 the economic part scores too high to the left. Just cause I think socialist ideas are good in the abstract doesn't mean that I think that they are necessarily good in practice. I f the questions were more practical my score would be closer to 0.
Last time I took one of these tests it said I was Hillary-- now it says i'm near Gandhi/Dalai Lama. Looks like most of us are in good company.
OK, based on the poll results, I suspected this test was biased towards the left / lib answers ... but after giddyup's results, I KNOW it is!
Once again, I am the most conservative poster on the board. To be fair though, I didn't see results posted by T_J, johnheath, and Chance.
You beat me on economics, but not on authoritarianism. Economic Left/Right: 2.50 Authoritarian/Libertarian: 0.72 I don't think people would be very "nice" if they didn't have to be, which makes me a little more authoritarian.
I didnt take the test. Im too old to not know where i stand. Im a right winger on most issues. But I believe a nation as affluent as ours should have national health insurance and I dont think anyone here should go hungry. I think homegrown mar1juana should be legal and I think democratic liberals should be able to abort their defenseless children if they wish..so they wont abuse them. But I want 20yr sentences for those who: Sell their free drugs for cash. Sell their free food stamps for cash Buy their drugs from foriegn drug merchants Abuse their children..after they are born.
Your political compass Economic Left/Right: 0.12 Authoritarian/Libertarian: -1.03 I was expecting to be more to the right and nowhere near Libertarian. Hmmm...
