i wonder if there was this much excitement over the cavs and nugs releases in their respective locales. i'm concerned about all of this hype and anticipation. i am sure that whatever the Rox release, the resounding sentiments will be anticlimactic and of disappointment, no matter how good or bad it is. also, for some reason, i have an uneasy feeling that when i see the new unis, i'll think "coke can". this is not due to any corporate ties, but bc of the metallic red primary and silver accents, which i see as being jet-streamish.
So you're saying some vendors have seen it. That would include beer vendors. Tim says it's "in the marketplace already". My guess it that's the new logo is at the bottom of a few select beer cans in the Houston area. Tell you what. I'll do my part to find the mysterious logo. Tomorrow, I'll just keep drinking beer and I will not stop until I find it at the bottom of my can. This I pledge to you. As soon as I find it, I'll post it here. Deal?
OMG, I found it!!!! At least that's what I thought when I saw it. It's like what Tim said; like how Reebok uses their own font. Sorry guys. But hey, at least it looks nice.
Alright, now I don't know what to think. You say the logo on this cap is the NEW logo, but the logo on there is the same old sci-fi "R" with a rocket going around it. Tigereye posted earlier this was the new logo, but now he says he was just joking. Are you sure CL? Tigereye says that "R" is not it (see his post at the bottom of page 10). You can see the cap on Rockets.com.
That one on Rockets.com is the "Official" Draft Day hat released to the public. I'm sure there's a rule stating that every team must release something for sale to the public. The old logo is it. Apparently when Badiane was being drafted, TNT never showed him at the podium. My guess is that's because of this whole "security" thing. I'm sure if the Rockets had a first round pick, the old logo would be used. In that picture (the only one with that hat on the internet of Badiane) the new logo is supposedly on the front. But, for some reason, you can't see it. Hmmmmmmm.
How do you know that hat has the old sci-fi R on there? I dont think anyone can actually tell what is on that hat. The NBA logo is on the left side of the hat, but you cant tell whats on the front of it...
people, the red draft cap is available to the public, it is not a huge secret. i saw a third grader in New Jersey wearing the darn thing! I will ask him who his connections are and if he knows anything about the new logo. for crying out loud, we are fishing for anything. the puma logo is an alternate logo that they use for practice shorts and shoting gear. i rock the shorts daily reebok's logo looks old school like Tim said but it ain't nothing new. currently sporting white long sleeve and gray tank top. and sorry folks the red draft cap has the same alternate logo we have had since we changed to PJs
If you guys are really desperate.... Just ask our friends in China to get a copy of the new logo. All of the caps and shirts are produced in China anyways and with all of the counterfeiters and interest in the Rockets in China, somebody over there must be have seen a new logo on a cap or shirt selling somewhere on the street.
but it is obvious that you are speculating..... I told you, I saw a red draft cap with my own eyes! it was the shiny red cap as worn by Badiane on Draft night.
honestly i dont think we are going to find this anywhere, i do belive this is a stunt pulled by the rockets office to see the want and desire for a new logo and will, yes one day, reveal it to the public. they are leadin us on a goose hunt you guys, and its one they are winning. Tims posts are inconsistent if you ask me, blatantly avoiding the meat of our questions and contradicting himself. So if you ask me, stop looking and we will see our new logo soon enough
Alrighty then, one more time.............................That Blue and Yellow rendition of the Rockets current (and soon to be past) logo............................IS A JOKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was just having a little fun off of what Denver did (just changing colors, not entire logo). That's it. Nothing else. The actual new Rockets logo looks nothing like the ole "Grinning Rocket" logo. Its totaly different! Its a sweeping dramatic change from what you have seen in the past. It's something creative that you wont expect, like the Texans logo. No one expected a bull to be incorporated into the Texans logo. And NO....................I am NOT SAYING a bull will be incorporated into the Rockets new logo either! That's as far as I will go. But you will love it! Trust me!
What are you talking about? What am I speculating? You're the one saying the red draft cap had our old logo on it... That red cap had our NEW logo on it. Someone in the Rockets organization told me. Who told you the old R was on it?
According to the NBA store online, Nike produced the NBA Draft caps this year (isn't Reebok the exclusive outfitter?) and the Rockets cap is blue: However, Badiane was wearing a red cap so it could very well have been the Rockets new logo. ESPN was still using the old logo on draft night.
CL, you must be blind. did you read my post? i work at a summer camp with manhattan kids who attended the draft at MSG, they came to camp on monday with Lebron James jerseys and red Rockets draft caps, with the OLD logo. I saw the hat with my eyes, isn't that enough proof? i will take a picture on Monday if you want, then you will see.
OTOH, why would the Rockets want to reveal their new logo on Badiane's cap? Maybe it was a sneak preview. A couple of years ago, Oshman's carried a red cap with the current "R" logo. Very confusing.
Well this is interesting. Do you guys remember Tim asking us if we could find a good pic of the red draft cap? Doesn't anyone else find it strange that the only picture available on the internet of Badiane wearing the red cap doesn't let us see the logo? Seems like the Rockets somehow limited the pics of this red cap.
