Here's another pretty cool political test - a little more in-depth than some of the others that have been done here: http://www.politicalcompass.org I'm making this a poll so people can post their results if they want.
I chose Right - Libertarian. I am much more conservative, especially with fiscal policy, than most people, but I am constantly dismayed at how many of our rights are being stripped from us daily. The Patriot Act was bad enough, but now they want Patriot Act II. The defense depaertment wants access to all of our information through TIA and don't even get me started on no-knock raids and warrants granted on the word of a single informant.
I was exactly on line directly below the center. I knew that I was the centrist, and you leftist wackos were deluding yourselves. I AM VINDICATED!
Left-Lib. As left as Ghandi, but considerably more Libertarian than him. On my suggested reading list I saw this great quote. It would be my signature if I wasn't so enamored of my current one. "Tell people something they know already and they will thank you. Tell them something new and they will hate you for it." - George Monbiot
I've always modeled myself after Stalin but it turns out that I'm nothing more than a ******* Ghandi.
After taking the test, I am almost dead in the middle of left and right with a strong leaning toward libertarian.
I'm a little bit Ghandi, and a little bit anarchist... Economic Left/Right: -3.50 Authoritarian/Libertarian: -5.95
The Political Compass Economic Left/Right: -2.88 Authoritarian/Libertarian: -5.44 That's me...usually on these things I end up pretty dead on the middle, but in this case I'm leaning towards the left, and towards libertarian, which doesn't suprise me...What DID surprise me was, when I was first scrolling dwon after having doen this thing, the first thing I read was AUTHORITARIAN ...it was part of their explanation, but i thought it was what i scored for a second, and i was thinking WTF!?!?!?!? Edit: Pic doesn't show up...I'm 5 south of the axis, and 3 west...
LOL, its Jean Chretien. You damn beer swilling, ice fishing, maple leaf wearing socialist pseudofrog- I am not surprised.
Both this time and the last I was almost in the very center but one block over to the right. Most people who know me would have put me much further to the right. But last time I took this I was barely (one block) towards the libertarian side and this time I was one block to the authoritarian side. I wonder what has changed about my response...
I'm not gonna talk to you about political stuff until you apologize for again calling me a liar and being proven wrong... But, for the record, I'm more like the Dalai Lama, except one step towards the right. If I only had a nickle for every time someone has compared me to the Dalai Lama...
LOL, you just talked to me again. By the way, the last time you addressed me, you claimed that I had been run off the board, which was another "untruth". No matter, it is just a bbs, and I refuse to quit talking to you. I only have two people on ignore, and you won't be one of them. You are too much fun to rib.
ha ha I'm more like D' Lama than you are... oh wait I don't sound very enlightened saying that... uh, OHMMMM
Your political compass Economic Left/Right: -3.62 Authoritarian/Libertarian: -4.05 Yep: Ghandi, Mandela, the Dalai Lama....
I am abstaining as a protest of the +/- orientation decision. There is a definite "positive" versus "negative" judgment built into this thing. ...
Like the last time I took it, I was expecting to be economically left, and politically somewhat authoritarian. But, I ended up slightly libertarian. Economic Left/Right: -5.25 Authoritarian/Libertarian: -1.28 I think the test is skewed towards making people look liberal (see the poll results). I blame the wording of the questions. Like It does avoid a lot of argument and argument does delay progress. Does that mean I should agree with the statement even if I think a one-party system is a bad idea for other reasons? I don't like the way they did it.
