His offensive game is near atrocious these days, but I'm all for bringing in someone to lock down the elite power forwards (Aldrige, Nowitzski, Griffin, Z-BO) that usually abuse us. The put backs and fast break points will be welcomed too.
morey will look into this. morey is all about low risk high reward. low risk here is how much we have to pay him (since someone else is picking up the real contract). high reward is his potential once he buys in, and what he already brings..defense, athleticism, above the rim play.
I'm late to this party. Literally have just skimmed this thread. Synopsis: DET waived smith? If he clears waivers (likely) he's free to sign a new contract with any team. Rox are front runners as teams he'd sign with + having the BAE to offer ($2 millish). So we can pick up smith for $2 mill? Is that right? What's not to like about this? Chemistry? Offensive distribution? $2 mill is worth the risk.
Must be the first time I heard a CF poster thinking McHale is afraid to pull someone. LOL McHale looks at every NBA player as a youngster. Dude is HOF and that's the way he sees things. He'll bench anyone without hesitation.
Josh Smith Baby..yeah!! Corey Brewer and Josh Smith...Rockets are gonna have the best bench ever!!
Pretty much. Detroit would be paying money for the Rockets to finally have an answer to Aldridge/Griffin. He's a chucker but at best he'd be our 4th or 5th offensive option here.
Papa is only valuable to the Rockets. Other teams won't be paying a premium for him. Clutchfans overhypes it's players and this is one of those instances. Plus, other teams know that with Brewer, Papa is a luxury player for us. I think a lot of you guys are delusional thinking he can be a PF. He cannot guard the Anthony Davis, Al Horford, Chris Bosh, Ibaka, Griffin's of the NBA.
The structure of Papa's contract makes him appealing and of value to other teams. The Rockets have sufficient assets to get Dragic if he is made available.
Dude, you can't put all your eggs in one basket. We already have a solid PG rotation in Canaan and Bev. Goran would definitely be an upgrade to both, but our biggest need is front court depth. For this price, you bite on josh smith. In regards to your FT shooting, if we cut dorsey, our team FT % goes up because Josh Smith can shoot FTs better than Dorsey. In essence, you are trading Dorsey for Josh SMith. JESUS CHRIST.... if you do not see that this is a low risk high reward situation (A MOREY SITUATION)... you are really really blind. In regards to Goran, you have to match salaries to trade in the NBA. We don't lose any assets with this signing and thus you can still trade for Goran!!!! WHY IS EVERYONE AGAINST THIS SIGNING? IT is a no brainer!
