ZRB: Read my response to your other post. But, let me just say it here as well, Hakeem wants out. This doesn't hit the media if he didn't. Of course, no one is going to say he "demanded a trade" and the Rockets front office isn't going to say, "Screw the guy. We're gonna dump his no-jumping ass." No one is that stupid. Everything that makes it into the newspaper with regard to sports rumors, etc. is dilluted by about 10 times. Writers want to keep their scoops and sources. Teams and players don't want to jeopardize their opportunities or PR with fans. It is a tenuous situation, but know that this being in the paper is there for a reason. If Hakeem didn't want to go, he would NEVER have gone to the media. ------------------ I am very very sleepy.
The way I read the article, it seems that the GM wants to keep Hakeem in Houston. Nowhere in the article did Hakeem seem to ask for a trade or waiver. He said that he would welcome a trade or waiver only if that's what would be best for the team. You guys are making it sound like he straight up asked for his release. The article seems more encouraging than not. It looks like the Rockets don't want to get rid of Hakeem. What good would it do anyway? They would be paying him for nothing. Amazing how the media can twist words. ------------------ "Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning how to put food on their family while being put to death."
