I think Hakeem would be a better teacher to Yao than Patrick will. I mean, although you could barely understand a word he says, Olajuwon can teach yao how to be a NBA center and demand that ball. There are times that a big man should demand the ball and get it. JVG, why not hire Olajuwon as Yao's personal mentor on how to be a NBA center. I think Hakeem would love to do it. I mean, what else does he do?

You answered your own question. Could you imagine the communication between Yao and Hakeem? I'm envisioning stick figures. In addition, he has a contract with Toronto in place. Communication and contract issues aside, Hakeem has not expressed an interest to be an assistant coach on the Rockets. Just because Hakeem thrashed PE in the '94 finals does not mean he'd be a better coach anyway.
Olajuwon does not want to coach. Second he was a great player, but I believe he was a special player because of things that can't be tought. His footwork and instincts were unbelieveable for a man his size, and those are things that a person has naturally.
How about every 48 hours, someone start a new thread suggesting Dream be one of or assistant coaches. How about every 72 hours someone start a new thread suggesting Moses Malone be one of our assistant coaches. How about once a week someone start a new thread suggesting Kareem Abdul-Jabbar be one of our assistant coaches. j

hey yao ming, i believe that this is meant bbs post was meant for rockets fans to interact wtih each other and discuss topis. This isn't to just post factual info. If you look at most of the topics, they're all discussion topics anyway. I mean, there are very few things that you won't know from espn or the news about the rockets that you'll find here, if any.
I agree he's going overboard with his thread starting but if you don't want opinions stick to the front page and off the bbs. Thats pretty much the whole point of the BBS.
