if no dragic, George hill will be the underdawg if morey can get some picks with him.

-2nd ball handler, defense, system player
-good $8,000,000 contract to move for bigger deal later
-money still on Bass expiring but Danny may want too much

As long as Daryl Nguyen is our GM the Rocket's will always be on the list of most active teams on the phone. They will also be mentioned in every, "XYZ player wants to be traded; NBA Team 1, NBA Team 2, and Rockets are among the teams interested." It's a combination of Daryl trying to nguyen nguyen nguyen no matter what and lazy journalism.

No Lakers? These guys should be active but is Jim Buss just resigned to do nothing and wait to chase another FA in the summer?

I think he isnt looking to get contracts beyond this year.

Source told me they could get Rondo now if they wanted (with 2 picks), but they figure why do it if they can have him next summer without gutting.

He's talking about the Lakers....which is funny, If I was a guy like Rondo who liked having the ball in my hands, I wouldn't even think about going to a team like the Lakers as long as they still have Kobe.

Probably two of the same players.

They are very similar guys. Very quiet, and just a holes.

Rondo would not fit in with the Rockets IMO. (personnel wise)

Or Houston where the PG is Harden, who is so much more dangerous with the ball than Rondo ever has been.

George Hill is a fine player but I don't see him as being any better than Beverly at this point. And at $8M/year until 2017 I think it would be hard to flip him somewhere else.

I agree that he wouldn't fit with the Rockets, they need PG's who can shoot to fit with Harden. IMO he would also be an awful fit next to Kobe, but if he's planning on retiring after this season now that he's finally managed to catch up with Jordan then it wouldn't be as bad. That said it would still leave a 29 year old Rondo on a bad team in the West with no hope for the playoffs for at least a year or two. I find it hard to believe he'd pick that situation.

Rondo sucks. Big Time. Rondo sucks. Big Time. Say it with me.

    Rondo is shooting 39.9%/24.1%/33.3%

I don't care if he gets us 10 assists or 10 rebounds but no way this team goes anywhere with him shooting so badly. His FT% is worse than Howard LOL. Teams will just hack a Rondo and hacka Dwight their way to victory.

No, RR is AOK. He is aces. Excellent player. Put him on last year's Pacers squad and they're hoisting the LB Trophy. He does require a good fit which I agree with C'x is not Rox. Nor IMO the Lakes, tho Rajon and Kobe just might forge an interesting on-court duo.

You give Rondo much to much credit. The guy is as stubborn as they come and he cannot shoot even if his life depended on it.

People are quick to dismiss Rondo because he can't shoot. But it needs to be noted that while he can't hit the 3, he has no problem getting to the rack, which of course also leads to open 3s and more layups for others.

Also, while he's shooting 40% so far this year, he's a 47% career shooter, most of which are layups. He doesn't fit the 3 and D motto, but he fits the layups and D motto ;)

Most importantly, RR will make life easier for Harden and Howard, just like he did for Pierce and KG.

Whatever. His numbers belie your assertion. But since Rondo will never ever be on the Rockets roster it is a moot point. Read the sig.

The problem with his style of play is that he has to have the ball in his hands almost exclusively until he passes it to the person who shoots...if they don't shoot, they have to give it back to Rondo because he's pretty close to worthless on the court off ball. He'd be a fit for a team looking for someone to run their entire offense, but that's not the Rockets.

Which #s before this year don't match my assertion? His overall FG % is 47 for his career, higher than Harden's. I find it hard to believe that by getting a league leader in assists and steals year in and out will not help our team....

I see your point, but I remember the Celtics being pretty harmonious offensively in the big 3 era with RR, and Pierce's game then was very similar to Harden's now. He actually took a lot of pressure off Pierce and KG, both for creating shots as well as being clutch.

About as well (sic) as Hill but better at every other aspect of hoops. Yes, I give Rondo lotsa credit. That doesn't mean I'd want him as a Rocket, tho. Heck, Calderon would be a better fit and I don't want him, either. Well maybe, a little...
