Easy answer: Have Harden dwight run pnr, don't post dwight post dmo instead. Or post dwight and stick dmo in the corner 3. But don't post dwight. Lol.
Just wanted to say this past few pages of interchange between you and multiple posters is an example of what I was referring to yesterday. It's hard to talk just about basketball when people have literally tuned you out and read everything you say through a narrative about your method of debate and character. That narrative changes only when you make consistent changes to your method of debate. DD is a clear and fine example of that and at times even still people filter his posts through the lens of his old behavior. This is the last you'll hear from me about this, because if it not that important to you it really isn't important to me either. It's just a very clear observation I've seen in how you interact with others that unfortunately minimizes your ability to communicate your points and thoughts. To use your words I watch a lot of people argue and debate issues, I know what I'm seeing. That is all....
I second this. If Howard and DMo were to start together, run more PnR with H&H and post up more with DMo, not only to match up with the OKC but also in other games.
Use the TPE to pick up an expiring contract (or second year team option) in the 6-8 million range. Then, right before the trade deadline (after the 3-month re-aggregation period has passed), repackage the player we receive with K-pap, terry, the NOP pick and maybe a sweetener like D-Mo or Canaan and get a big-time player like Melo in return. We'd have to be careful to stay under the apron, but it's possible. The team trading the superstar to us gets $17-19 million in expiring Ks, a decent pick, and maybe a nice young player. Really not too shabby. I think a trade like this is what Morey has in mind, which is why he wants to move the TPE before the re-aggregation deadline. If the player we get back contributes, great if not, no big deal. Brandon Bass's $6.9 million expiring would be kind of perfect for this.
I'm still gunna stick with trading Jones+Pick for Taj Gibson. I just feel a vet at the 4 will help us tremendously come playoff time.
injure westbrook (bev can do that) injure durant (who cares who does that as long as it gets done) okc is gone
Lebron also wanted the PG Shabazz Napier. Doesn't mean he is a good scout. Up to this point, you have been radical, but you have provided some solid ideas. You had more accurate opinions of Canaan, DMo, and Rubio than me. So I find you a credible poster. I value your opinion, but your last series of exchanges is hurting your brand.
I think I can agree with most of what you said here, though your point seems obvious to those that are paying attention. What I disagree with is that DMo would be used as sweetener any more. He is beyond sweetener status at this point. He's been proven to have a strong positive effect on both defense and offense this year, and he provides something to our team that no one else can, a consistent post-up presence. He's not an All-Star, but he's the kind of rare player that a deal would be structured around, not to use him as sweetener. Not any more.
Sounds like a good return IMO, Taj shouldn't be pricey atm, plus a first round pick from NO would be good for Chi, hell i'll even throw Troy, since they need shooters/gaurd depth.
I know alot of ppl are suggesting we include jones + a pick or jones + something of value... but does jones even have value right now bc of his injury?
Jones right now has the value of a stale bag of potato chips. Well, more than that but you get my drift.
If TJones comes back in pre-injury form, I think a 3-man rotation of Beverley, Harden and Dragic (willing to come off the bench or someone similar), a 3-man rotation of Jones, Howard and Motiejunas, with Ariza and Papa makes a deep playoff run. The defense of Beverley, Harden, Ariza and Howard would really trouble a lot of teams. In short, we need a more reliable and off-the-dribble scorer on the wing as long as Jones comes back strong. If Jones misses the season or is hampered due to the injury, I worry still about Dorsey and Black as bigs off the bench during the playoffs.
Ha, I agree it's obvious. Doesn't seem like most people are paying attention. We'll see on D-Mo. I'm still in the "show me this isn't just a hot streak" camp. Nice thing is that we have until February to decide.
Basically nothing. Even healthy he's just another athletic tweener and there are a million of them, so that drives his value down. Add in an injury that has cost him a month already and he's only valuable as filler to make contracts work. The only way to get something from him would be to have him come back playing well and trade him before next season's trade deadline.
In case you had not noticed, Chicago is battling for a very high seed in the East. If anyone wants a piece of that team they are going to be paying dearly for it.
I do think that they would consider trading Taj given that they have Noah, Gasol and Mirotic in the front court. But yeah, someone will give them more than Jones and a late lottery first rounder for him. Also, those salaries don't come close to matching, although it would work if we threw in Terry.
