Link News Most draft experts loved Toronto's selection of forward Chris Bosh with the fourth pick in the 2003 NBA draft, but Vince Carter is not a draft expert. "I would prefer to trade him and get a veteran," Carter told the Dayton Beach News-Journal last Friday. "We need to win right now, not in a couple of years. We need experience." Views Uh, Vince, getting one more veteran is not going to get your team over the hump. We like to defend Carter (God knows why), but these quotes are ridiculous. Even if that's what you think, you don't diss your new teammate like that in the papers. ---------------------------------------------------- Way to make the rook feel welcome there Vince.
I think that the Raptors should trade Vince, that's incredulous. Mobley and .... VC's sure got attitude to diss the 4th pick in the draft. Calling out management in the process. What a Nancy, now how can we get him on the Rocks...
This will make for a lovely working relationship between Vince and Bosh if they don't trade either of them.
I think francis said we should trade last years pick (Yao) for vets too--water under the bridge if Bosh comes in and shows he can play. That said, Carter is an ass.
Carter is a nimrod. My cousin used to work at a sports radio station in Toronto and she had to deal with Carter quite often. Anyway, she said that he is extremely pompous and full of himself. A real self-centered guy. It's sad really because these days he doesn't even have the game to back up his lousy attitude.
to a 4 who has no shoulders? it'll be a couple of years before Bosh does anything. If I were Vince I'd want someone who could help the team now too. Course I wouldn't tell the press that ...
I think Vince has lost his mind. "Let's sign a veteran and win right now!" Unless the veteran is Wilt, Jordan, or Magic in their primes, it ain't happenin'.
I believe publically Steve didn't say anything. There rumors and Steve may have initially been upset, but he never took it to the papers.
The thing is we could of trade our #1 pick for Lamar or Brand and their pick which would could have been Amare Stoudamire (he worked out for us and we loved him). We then could have traded Griffin and Rice for Briant Grant. Our lineup would have been Franchise/Moochie Cat/Hawkins Odom/KT/TMo Amare/KT/MoT Grant/Cato Not bad if you ask me.
Do you think that's going to be a championship team? I don't think so... even if it can, how many years do you think you can keep this team together... imaging the contracts of each of these players... just Francis & Grant's alone will put you a lot of difficulties signing up other quality players... no need to mention that Amare will demand max or close to max few years down the road... unless u want the Rockets to end up like the Trail Blazers with too many generals & not enough soldiers... then again, I don't think Les has the pocket of a Paul Allen...
how about this 3 way trade: Jason Kidd from New Jersey to Dallas Steve Nash from Dallas to Toronto Vince Carter from Toronto to New Jersey
Yeah, after all, RJ and VC shot a commercial together, I'm sure they could learn to play together too!
VC is a total certifiable idiot, for sure. Bosh could turn out to be the next KG, hasn't even gotten to camp yet, and already you're running your mouth. What veterans are out there, Vince, that can team up with you to win a championship that are available? None, because no one is going to win a championship trophy with that has-been, show-off, couldn't defend my mother (all 5-1 of her) sorry ass whiner who never shows up in the big games and always gets hurt. Uggh, I hate Vince. And to think once upon a time I actually liked the guy....
