Vivek doesn't have any knowledge about basketball. The Kings will continue to suffer, because they are impatient. No coach will be willing to stay there for long.
Spicing it up, won't make a difference.

Damn, I thought Cousins liked him though? Bet there's more to it then just win expectations. Owner or somebody else in management probably had problems with him.

    Something internal?

Malone was doing a better than decent job with that team.

    Horrible decision.

So ironic to talk about being like the Spurs, and firing your coach at the first sign of adversity.

I though Cousins had a bit of a bond with the coach. He seemed like he enjoyed being coached by him because he knew he had his backing. This seems like a really bad move by the Kings. The type of move that ends in a trade demand.

Why does it matter that the owner is Indian?

You're replying to one of the board losers. He's usually wrong, and when he is all he does is hurl insults. You're right though, it shouldn't matter, but a lot of people in society today including him probably feel threatened by someone different.

This is just ridiculous. They have a good record given their situation.

From the reports, this seemed like a simple "We didn't hire the guy, so any excuse to fire him." It's clearly not just a situation of underperforming expectations, whatever that may be.

What I'm wondering is why they waited so long to fire him in the first place?

    this makes zero sense

it has to be some disagreement within the organization like the Lionel Hollins/Memphis situation

From Woj's article on the firing.

This is pretty much why the idea of us letting go of McHale anytime soon is never going to happen, regardless of your opinion of him.

So Ranadive made a deal with Malone to hire him as the HC if he ever bought a franchise?
What kind of a deal is that? What was in it for Ranadive?

Also regarding George Karl, he is the first name that popped into my head. Dude has been pretty active on twitter for being such an old fogey. It would make sense if he was trying to get his name out there.

    -------------------

Kojirou, you hit the nail on the head. The same can be said for why Rick the Ruler wasn't retained.

I blame McHale. When he had the Rockets winning almost every game despite missing Dwight and 4 or 5 other guys, other organizations expected the same from their coaches.
