basketballholic talking about neck length might be the funniest thing I read today...

No...scratch that...it's definitely going to be the funniest thing I read today!

    lol

Yes but he left out the stats on the neck width being a factor. Can't trust anyone if they are selective in the stats they use.

You make no sense. I'm not interested in freakish long arms. I'm interested in guys that can ball and help this team win a championship. Don't need to include Griffin, Millsap, Love, etc. They are MILES BETTER than Jones to start with. And they ain't available in trade. I'm fixing to take Millsap out of my signature for that reason.

The purpose of my post was simply to point out to posters who keep going on and one about Jones' "incredible length" that he ain't that long in NBA terms. He's not some super athelete that is just head and shoulders above his NBA brethren. He's just another athlete folks. Just another player.

I have never seen anybody claim TJ having incredible length. On the contrary, most of the unconvinced state that he is too short. That is the only time his reach is mentioned. You tried to make your point that somehow Jones is small for his position indicating that his neck was short and proceeded to name players who are shorter than jones who had a higher standing reach - the freaks. But when compared to those other dominant power forwards, he is at least 2" longer.

You are certainly entitled to look at TJ as another Bball player as long as you don't try to pass it off as facts.

Small is not length. Jones is small for the PF position. Don't know why you can't see it. He's too light in the pants to stop any of those guys you named.

He is 22 yrs old and is not even close to reaching physical maturity when it comes to bigs. I don't have the educational background to tell you what he will look like 3 yrs from now but I doubt you have neither.

Honestly, Yao Ming was just an average 7footer who had an abnormally long neck.

Yeah, I do. Just another player (if he's still in the league).

Wait a second, you're talking about inability to match strength with people at 21?

He was noticably stronger before his injury this year....

I have no issue with chucking him in a trade for a shooter, but to say he's physically complete is just nonsense, he's playing a strength based position, and at that age no one really has it.

It's a shame really given the effort you put into your posts and the fact that the basis of your points hold some merit.....but all that gets lost with posts like these that undermine your credibility and legitimacy.

I told you last year Terrence was just another player. The PF war is over. Yesterday's news. DMo has won the job. Period. We need to move forward to what we need from here.

    We need to acquire:

    1. A second primary playmaker on the perimeter. But he's got to be a really, really good 2-way player.

    2. A backup spread-4 player. Somebody like Ilyasova, Arthur, Chandler will do at this point.

    3. A 3rd string center that can give us some rim protection in the event that both Dwight and DMo go down or get into foul trouble. A grizzled vet like KG or Jermaine O'neal would be ideal.

Trade bait in order of least to greatest value:

    1. Dorsey - backup big on a minimum salary deal. Mostly salary filler.

    2. Tarik Black - rookie on minimum salary. Would be a nice throw-in for a trade.

    3. Jason Terry - $5.8 million expiring contract for salary matching purposes.

    4. Terrence Jones - young player still on a rookie contract that some team may want to take a flyer on and see if they can develop him as a playmaker. (That's his best shot to be a diffference maker because he simply can't shoot a basketball efficiently.)

    5. Clint Capella - raw, raw rookie with great NBA size and athleticism. Who knows what he could become? But a worthy prospect for sure.

6.Kostas Papanikalou - rookie player with good potential. Smart, sees the floor really well, great attitude, tough defender, can handle, pass, and has good shot mechanics. Needs more experience. A good contributor/starter on a good team.

    7. Isaiah Canaan - second year point guard that can flat-out score the basketball on a very efficient level. Great 3-point shooter, great finisher. Adequate passer at this point with potential to improve his passing game. Adequate defender who could become Chris Paul crafty if he applies himself on the defensive end.

    8. $8.4 million Traded Player Exception from Jeremy Lin trade.

    9. The New Orleans Pelicans 2015 first round draft pick protected 1-3 and 20-30.

DMo is not on the list. At this point Morey is not going to trade DMo for anything short of a guy like Aldridge. And I seriously doubt if he'd trade him for LaMarcus right now. However it's pointless to discuss LaMarcus and Millsap. Those guys simply aren't available. Perhaps during the summer.

But Jones vs. DMo?????? Guys it's over. Over. Over. DMo IS the superior player.
