I love to hang out at my grandfather's house in
    WISNER LOUISIANA

So peaceful, quiet and full of personal history.

Where are some of the great off the beaten path places to see
[esp in texas . .. thinking of my vacation time. . .
    or at least a weekend
to run and see more of this great state.]

Small town about 30 min south of Dallas off I-45 near Corsicana. Bunch of my relatives live there. It's an old oil/cotton town, not much going on there nowadays. Fun to visit, life really slows down there. :)

When I was dating the girl before ex-RM95's Girl, I loved nothing more than going to her parents' place about 15 miles west of El Campo in the middle of nowhere. It was so relaxing.

Huntsville, Tejas. Not the prison. Plenty of beautiful places away from the college to go that no one knows about.

Lampassas Co Tx during the "rut" in Novemeber--bag you a good buck and head down to Hamilton too.....you gotta love it...Bagwell's Deer Camp to BS and get your Venison processed...good times. Don't forget the Maker's Mark and Coke around the fire; shooting the breeze and talking about the monster Buck you just KNOW you'll see THIS year...

Well its pretty damn popular so I guess this defeats the purpose of this thread.

My grandparents have lived there for 25 years and have seen the population and tourism increase greatly.

    My mom lives there too.

Great place to go visit, get some home cooking, and just chill with the dogs.
