The actor who played Tripps was seen on the Avengers' set. The question is.....how is he supposed to be in the Age of Ultron....if he is dead?

The actor gave an interview saying the character was dead.

Fantastic episode, I have zero clue about any of the Marvel stuff, so it's cool to see Skye get superpowers. So does that mean Skye's father is an 'Inhuman' too, since he doesn't seem to have aged a bit over the years? Or is he just a regular mass murdering dad?

Loved the fight between Skye's Dad and Coulson, two father figures beating each other up, but Trip just slipping into the chamber at the end was so...random. Was expected a Trip vs Mac fight tbh, but he died instead. And good point about the uselessness of the hazmat suits, Coulson and Trip just waltz in and nothing happens to them. Can't wait to see the new bits start up.

Watched it last night before the game. Very good episode. Seems like they have 75% meh episodes, 15% terrible episodes, and 10% very good episodes.

Trip dying sucked because I liked his character, but the writers wanted something tragic to happen when Skye got her abilities. That way she'll have this struggle of always knowing her powers came at the cost of her friend's life. It makes for a more compelling story. Although personally, I think it would have been more meaningful if Fitz died while trying to prove he was capable. (Plus, I'm not in love with that actor's talent.)

Also interested in seeing Ward/Agent 33 as they move forward. If nothing else it will give Ming-Na Wen more screentime where she doesn't have to talk and act like a robot. After hating Agent Ward when he was the All-American Boy Scout, I like him much more now. Although, did he really murder his brother? I figured they would eventually show that he didn't do it and/or it was staged.

And does anyone know who/what Raina is?
I don't know if I'm going to watch Agent Carter. On the one hand, it would be nice to see a Marvel show that isn't so restricted like SHIELD (often having to wait for Marvel films to come around before doing something meaningful). On the other hand, I might be all Marvel'd out.

I really disagree on this. While the first half season was terrible, all of this season and the close to last season was spectacular. They managed to put forth an excellent arc without any movie tie-in whatsoever.

Not every episode can be explosive, some just have to be about setting things up. I've enjoyed every episode this seaosn because they seem like they are clearly building to something, while the first half of last season felt like aimless garbage.

The show knew all along they were gonna have to wait for Cap to set things in motion, they would have been much, much better served just starting at midseason instead of losing viewers with all the snoozers. This season they are doing it right, and are just gonna go on an extended hiatus.

You may disagree but the ratings don't... And personally I feel 90% of the shows have been 'Meh' and I haven't seen a spectacular one yet. But I understand why some like it.

Ratings don't always tell the whole story. There were some really good shows (both this year and years past) that were canceled too early because of low ratings.

Glad AoS is killing it though.

So I'm guessing that was supposed to be the representation of the terrigen mists(I think thats what its called) at the end there that gives Skye her powers?

Also good job by Marvel/Disney using the show to introduce the world to the Inhumans this way. They are somewhat obscure characters I feel and this is a good way to get people know them.

Trip was my favorite character, bad exchange. Melinda May exclusively humps non Chinese guys?
Ratings are going up which is hard to do after people have been burned by poor episodes. So the ratings go against your argument.

AoS can thank Netflix for their ratings going up.

2 weeks ago I had Zero interest in the show and had never seen a episode.

Then I saw that season one was on Netflix and I was able to binge watch my way through season one and then use the internet to get caught up on season two till I was in sync with the live broadcast.

I saw that, but season 1 was dog crap so if anything it is bad for ratings.

You keep saying the numbers went up but for that show on that network in that time slot those numbers still suck. I believe ABC was expecting probably double the numbers they are getting... Especially considering the show doesn't have to go up against the NFL (like The Walking Dead does) and the popularity of the Marvel movies.

But I'm not making an argument _ just a discussion. I don't think the show will get cancelled... But if those numbers don't pick up it probably will.

Are you familiar with the comic book series...?

With the ABC/Marvel/Disney factor, the show's ratings will have to be catastrophically bad for it to get cancelled. While I'm sure Disney hoped for better ratings, but the show is doing well enough to stay out of danger.

Also with the Inhumans angle, the show is now actively supporting the film series, instead of just being something that takes place in the same universe.

Not if you take production cost under consideration and this show doesn't appear to be cheap to make. I think they will give it another season. But if the numbers stay around what they are _ they will probably cancel it.

But, another network may pick it up...

It's always been supporting the films. See: events leading up to and following Winter Soldier.

No way this show gets cancelled. You are looking at the fast national ratings. The +3 and +7 day ratings are very good. Even the fast national rating are good enough. Disney uses this show to introduce some elements of the Marvel universe to casual viewers. They also do movie tie-ins. The 18-48 demo ratings is ok.
