Rice and Griffin for Payton and cap fillers! Reason they do this is to get cap room for Kobe next year.

And, I had heard of this trade possiblity, Taylor, Mobley, Cato, and a future 1st round pick for O'neil and cap filler. Reason they do this is to get something for O'neil if he decides to go.

    Yao
    O'neil
    Posey
    Francis
    Payton

Wow!!!!!!!!!! But, there is logic in my insanity!!!

Our bench would be decimated and we wouldn't have the cap space to rebuild it.

The Bucks have no chance at getting Kobe next year and they know that. There is no way they even think about this trade.

You are right, but we would still have Nachbar, Norris, and the guy we bring in with the Mid level Exception.

Geez, but I'm talking about 4 all stars, 2 tremendous defenders, 2 and possibly 3 MVP level calibur players, Etc.

Look at the Lakers, they had an average bench, but they still won with Shaq and Bryant. The Rockets would have 5 awsome players.

I say, a below average bench will be enough to give the starters a breather.

Wasn't MJ going to buy the Bucks? Maybe he could recruit Kobe or would have hopes of doing so. If that is the case and the Bucks cap room ALLOWS it, then I say wooo hoooo!!!!

Rockets top priority should be to go after Payton. He has 3 or 4 good years left. And as the whole world knows, Francis is NOT a point guard. The Bucks are prying for a few big men right? so hey, they can have any of the Rockets big man except Yao. Paytons worth it. At least thats what I think. Give Payton a center like Yao to play with and we're not just talking playoffs again next year.

Payton makes this team a top 5 NBA team. Spurs, Lakers, Mavericks, Kings, and Rockets; in any order with the best Chemistry at the top. No team can win the title without heavyweight talents!

Yao, Francis, and Payton lineup give you defense, blocks, steals, points, rebounds, etc.

But, I'm still intrigued at the remotely not even a pipedream afterthought trade scenario I hear here about Mobley, Taylor, and Cato for O'neil.

Payton is also 35 years old! He probably won't get much more than MLE anywhere?

Actually, Payton might get more then the MLE. He is still one of the better point guards in the league.

How about this, the Rockets trade away Mo Taylor and Moochie for Payton in return. Rockets will get a great combo guard and the Bucks will get a fat out of shape power forward and a useless sack of crap in Moochie. Sounds like a fair trade.

My question is...if Payton is sooooo good still, why did he not help the Bucks in any significant manner. I think they actually got worse defensively when they got him.

The Bucks were headed towards the lottery before they got Payton, which might not have been a bad idea considering Payton might not even stay with the Bucks.

The Bucks gave Nets a better series then any other team in the East and part of the credit has to go to Payton.
