Not outta cc.net, true believers. So you can relax a little bit about that. But outta Houston. I decided almost two months back and informed my company. We kept it kind of under wraps while making sure they'd get by without me (and they're gonna be not just fine, but great), but it's in the paper today so it's hardly a secret anymore.

Don't know where I'm going yet and welcome any advice. I'd like to live somewhere I've never lived before for a while, which rules out NYC and Houston. I'd also like to get clear out of Texas for a while, so Austin's not an option either. Some places I've thought about are LA, Toronto, Minneapolis, Seattle, Portland (where I lived for a few months a long time back), Chapel Hill or Raleigh-Durham, Atlanta and anywhere in Montana (I love that Big Sky country). I'm open to thinking about more such places before I actually take off, which I'll do no sooner or later than September 1.

Seriously sucks to leave town when so many exciting things are happening with our team, but I guess I'm just not quite a big enough fan to stick around just for the Rockets. Guess wherever I go I'll have to make enough money to buy League Pass.

Anyway, if you've just been dying to raise a glass with the real Batman Jones, you'd be well advised to do it soon.

    Don't you believe me, Woof?

All I can say about the photo is it isn't me. It's a guy we pay to say he's me and on that particular day he was not doing a very good job of it. I seriously think the only reason they ran it is cause the critic hates me.

Well LA is awesome. I visited my brother out there and I have been dreaming about living out there ever since. Great weather, mountains and hills to drive around, lots of stuff to do, lots of opportunities.

Of course, rent and living expenses are the downside.

Dude, if I could move somewhere right now, I'd hightail it to Florida and live by the beach...

Seattle is also really nice (although rainy).

All right , I don't really know Nodler but I suspect these are all the same guy.

    Here are my suggestions;

Santa Barbara - close enough to LA but far enough away
Saint Croix - a tropical island but still the US of A
Boerne - close enough to the San Antonio airport but far enough away from San Antonio , and it's still Texas
Colorado Springs - cooler than here yet warmer than Denver
Ashville - temperate mountain enviroment and you can marry your cousin

You look like the unholy spawn of David Cross and Neil Young there. Actually, you kinda look like that one guy from Pretender who seemed autistic.

If you go to Toronto, you can find out about MacB and his female roomies and his pornstar girlfriend.

Congratulations, I guess, Batman. I just finished a crappy report today on your play. The play's cool, just not the report. Ummm, pull a Kramer and go to LA man. Or maybe Quahog, RI. I'm sure McBeth can hook you up in Toronto.

I was thinking about moving as well, but my job is here. I would definitely goto a big city though, but that's me. Austin is the smallest town I want to live in.

    Good luck.

I just moved out to LA. It has some definite advantages, and I've only recently gotten myself situated and started checking out the local theatre here.

So far I've seen some really high quality with stuff with almost no audience in attendence. I also saw a collection of short pieces that was standing room only. There were some industry people there, if your looking to get those people to check out your work. The pieces were, for the most part, well acted, and horribly written, to the point that they were annoying. Direction was lacking in many scenes unless the actors decided to throw all ideas of pacing out the window on performance night, but since I doubt that, I will say directing was lacking. There was one very impressive piece, which hit on all cylanders. If you choose LA just seek out what you appeals to you, and ask around.

There are a number of small theatres, but I'm not sure what any of them cost to rent/lease. I assume they are similar in price to NYC. You know the stereotypes of LA people and from what I've seen they do exist, but there are definite less hyped alternatives here too. You can probably find like-minded or at least people that you can get along with/work with after awhile. The weather is great, and there is all kinds of recreation from camping, surfing, parks, hiking, comedy, tennis, basketball, a circus training class... you name it.

I lived in Portland for two months prior to moving out here. I liked the people there a lot, and the town was cool. I just don't think I would've liked the constant rain. I know the summer months there are beautiful, and I wasn't there for the summer. But I think it depends on your tolerance for that kind of thing.

This stuff may or may not help you out. Eitherway, good luck.
