In the last couple of weeks, the United States Supreme Court...that conservative witch-hunting, election-rigging nasty old group of Republican Halliburton supporters:

    1. struck down sodomy laws, recongizing a constitutional right to privacy under the 14th amendment; and

    2. affirmed affirmative action, saying that race CAN be a factor in college admissions in public universities.

yeah...that's a regular Pat Buchanan roundtable.

those are two high profile examples max, but you know that there are any number of counterexamples to that.

It all depends on what kind of mood sandy is in that day.

giddyup, are you underestimating Sandy's moodiness? :)

More importantly, is the court forgiven for their election rigging simply b/c they got a couple right? ;)

pity Scalia, probably the brightest person on the court, ends up being wrong on so many of the issues of the day.

    Man,

Come on, at least they are getting some of them right.

    It could be worse.

    :)

I applaud the Supreme Court for these two high-profile decisions. Maybe they're not the neo-conservative whores I made them out to be.

    At least not today. :p

Achebe -- first of all...you and I both know they didn't hijack an election. i know you know that...or at least i think you know that.

all i hear from many here is that our rights are constantly under assault and that this court won't protect us....that they won't protect individual liberties. i think that is clearly wrong. yes, these are two-high profile cases..but they're high-profile because of their implications...because they're big ticket items.

The recent decisions by the court have actually invigorated my optimism when it comes to politics. They have actually recognized that what goes on behind closed doors should be.... what is that word? Oh, yeah, PRIVATE.

Now we just need to apply the same rationale to prohibition.
