Lowry changed the culture of the Raptors, which have been pretty much soft since its inception.

So I'll say his most important attribute is his toughness.

Really really wanted him back on the Rocks during the off season.

Would be hard to imagine a successful raptors team without Lowry even with the depth. The guy is a beast. Heart and soul of the team.

Key word being "at he time". The fact is, Lowry and Dragic posted better numbers outside of Houston. I don't see how you can dispute that.

Lowery might have considered us if McHale wasnt the coach.
But I think he got the best deal in Toronto.
Toronto had the cap space after unloading overpaided contracts of Rudy Gay and A Bargnani last year.
He the alpha dog now. DeRozan strikes me as more like the 2nd option.
Perfect situation for him , he's natural leader of the team.
Toronto has a great bench and Lowery as the PG is a big upgrade over Calderon.

In hindsight they did a great job trading their 5th pick for him.

Wasn't it the 12th pick (Steven Adams)?

He clearly stated in interviews that he had a mutual agreement with Morey and was just waiting for a phone call. Morey told him to wait for the bosh situation to play out and blew it. Lowry also said he made many mistakes and learned a lot from the McHale situation and respects him a lot.

Where the heck did you get this from? Can you give me a quote please. He was pretty set on Toronto from my understanding of his interviews, Houston & Miami were just considerations.

I think if he can even improve and I think he is like great wine... the older the better.

Then we might be looking at a future borderline superstar.

Lowry is a power guard. He doesn't rely on speed or jumping ability that much. I think he'll decline pretty gracefully.

His best skill with the Rockets were the random step back threes he would drain. He could also get to the foul line, but didn't seem interested in finishing the shot like Dragic did. That seems to have changed. I wasn't heartbroken when he left. Dragic was clearly the better player (better passer, more athletic, consistent shooter) and I would still take him over Lowry all day.

I look at the Eastern Conference standings and there is Toronto, on top by a couple of games. That's simply mindblowing, and Kyle deserves the lion's share of the credit, in my opinion. I'd love to have him back, and would love to have Dragic back. Sadly, Kyle's ship has sailed. Toronto has him, and at a great contract. Perhaps the Dragon, eventually, will return. I hope so.

Umm... okay. So it's good you're not a talent evaluator then. Because Lowry is on a completely different tier than Dragic this year.
