Have you been watching the games? DMO has been a great defender this season. Playing excellent position defense as well as man on man defense, rotating well, taking charges etc. Add on his improved and yet udnerrated passing and post play and he becomes almost the complete package.
Im talking about this season. I watch all games and i think he improve his defense a lot comparison last season.
Probably has improved over last season. He was good defensively last season, but has been great so far this year. I would say it is confidence. If we can get Howard and Jones back and fit, it looks like we have our 3 bigs rotation sorted out.
D-Mo was actually a solid defensive player last year as well, he just never got credit for it. He's elevated himself to being a spectacular position defender this season.
He's learning he is 7' tall and doesn't have to do the cheap lateral hip shove thing that refs will call everytime. Just trust your height and play tall. Use your size a little more. That's what I think he's putting together. He's understanding the game and his strengths better.
DMo is our best post up player right now. Last year I was so mad with McHale for not playing him in the last game at Portland. He is much better on defense than TJones. The way he is playing now, he should be our starter even when TJONES is healthy.
No. It's not just you. There's a whole thread on it already. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=260171
He's a keeper. I'm thinking we need a backup big more than a starting 4 with Jones and DMo stepping up.
Any night Randolf and Gasol are held to 16 points total is a great defensive night. D-Mo played spectacularly. And people scoff at me when I state that D-Mo is one of the 10 best defensive players in the NBA. But I am not bitter, much ...
His quickness at that size is a MAJOR advantage on both ends, and the game seems to have slowed down for him. Loving the way he is playing these days. Maybe we should trade Dwight? DD
it's up to the ref to call ticky tack fouls. He may not a be a shot blocker of any kind but he knows his positions and rotation.
One of the great things about DMO is that he creates so many loose ball situations on defense by just being in the right positions and moving laterally. He must have created like 3 turnovers tonight without even touching the ball. That won't pop up on any stat sheets.
Not quite. None of those guys can stretch the floor. All are paint scorers. Doesn't matter now, but it will in the playoffs. Really, really like what we are seeing from DMo. I'm hoping he develops that corner 3 over time. He's hitting about 40% from 3 over the last 6 games. Dare I say it......DMo might be untouchable, which is probably why he will be traded soon.
Looking better defensively as a center as well. Last ten games, the Rockets have had huge drop offs when he is on the bench. Rockets need Jones back...
